Racing Victoria (RV) and the Victorian Jockeys Association (VJA) have today announced a major three-year partnership to promote equine welfare and support jockey welfare initiatives. 2021 JUMPS RACING PROGRAM RELEASED Racing Victoria (RV) in consultation with the Australian Jumps Racing Association and Thoroughbred Racing SA has today confirmed the 19-raceday program scheduled for the 2021 Victorian jumps racing season, which will commence in Warrnambool on 8 March. The 2021 season will see over $3.9 million in prizemoney on offer for jumpsparticipants.

It is with sadness that Racing Victoria (RV) acknowledges the passing of Australian Racing Hall of Fame member Geoff Lane, a former champion Victorian apprentice who became an elite senior rider in Australia and Hong Kong. Geoff, 80, passed away today and is survived by his wife Joanni, son Sam and daughters Samantha and Natasha. He was the 32nd jockey inducted into the Hall of Fame when welcomed in 2013. KILMORE AND SEYMOUR MEETINGS TRANSFERRED DUE TO TRACK UPGRADES Racing Victoria (RV), in conjunction with the Kilmore Racing Club (KRC) and the Seymour Racing Club (SRC), have today announced a series of transfers from both racecourses from October 2019 to February 2020 as a result of works to enhance both tracks. RV and KRC have recently completed a major upgrade, with the support of the Government’s Victorian Racing Industry Fund, to widen the Kilmore track and improve its camber and drainage.13 September, 2019
FIRST FLEET OF EUROPEANS ENTER QUARANTINE AHEAD OF RAID ON VICTORIAN SPRING RACING CARNIVAL Eighteen European horses have begun the first phase of their mission to conquer the 2019 Victorian Spring Racing Carnival after entering quarantine facilities in the English town of Newmarket. The 18 gallopers – 11 of which are owned in Australian interests and six of which are destined for local stables – will spend the next fortnight in quarantine in the UK before boarding a plane which is scheduled to touch down in Melbourne on AFL Grand Final Day (28 September).
