CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACID (CLA) AND BREAST MILK In April the British Journal of Nutrition published a study showing that the conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in human breast milk increased as the mothers ate more organic dairy and meat products. If you compare Figure 1 to Figure 2 above, both of which have the same relative risk, you can readily see that the absolute risk is extremely important. If the absolute risk is high, as it is in Figure 1 at the top, then the relative risk becomes important.PROTEIN POWER

TRIPPING OVER THE TRUTH Tripping Over the Truth tells many miraculous stories of sufferers of cancer of one kind or another being jerked from the jaws of death and allowed to live many more years by switching to a ketogenic diet. But too many people seem to think a ketogenic diet is the total answer. Itmakes sense.
STATIN EFFECTS OF LOW-CARB DIETS That’s what the researchers who did this study wanted to find out. Subjects were randomized into two groups, both of which consumed low-carb diets (10-15% energy from carbs, 30-35% from protein and 55-60% from fat) for 12 weeks. The groups differed in that one group was given an extra 640 mg per day of cholesterol in the form of eggswhile

HOW TO LOWER YOUR CHOLESTEROL The most common question I get asked via comments on this blog and email is how to lower cholesterol levels and/or LDL levels. People asking this question have usually just gotten a high cholesterol reading of one kind or another and have heard the pronouncement from their doctor: You need to go on a statin. DEVILED EGGS WITH LOX AND CAPERS Deviled eggs make a great low-carb appetizer or side dish filled with good fats. With lox and capers and salmon roe, they're delicious evenfor breakfast!
THE DEAN KARNAZES DIET When he’s not in the midst of some record-breaking exploit, Karnazes maintains a monkish diet, eating grilled salmon five nights a week. So, based on Dr. Yusuf’s date from the PURE study, he should be recommending red meat out the wazoo. IS AL QAEDA SUNNI OR SHIITE? Al Qaeda is profoundly Sunni. If a Shiite showed up at an al Qaeda club house, they’d slice off his head and use it for a soccer ball. Jesus wept. Just so you won’t make that same mistake if you’re asked, here is a concise summary of the differences. A nod to Andrew Sullivan for tipping me offSkip to content

Within days I began sleeping through the night, no restlessness or gnawing hunger at 2 A.M. No 10 A.M. and 4 P.M. utter fatigue. No more carb cravings and that constant depressing feeling of hunger.
