BASIC AUTOMATION IN REAPER Automation Modes in Reaper. To change automation modes, navigate to your track in the mixer and click the button called Track Envelopes/Automation. A box will open where you can select a different automation mode based on your needs, such as Trim/Read, Read, Write, Touch, Latch, etc. Using Write, you can automate in real time bystarting

To change automation modes, navigate to your track in the mixer and click the button called Track Envelopes/Automation. A box will open where you can select a different automation mode based on your needs, such as Trim/Read, Read, Write, Touch, Latch, etc. Using Write, you can automate in real time bystarting
HOW TO RECORD OVERDUBS IN STUDIO ONE Next, you can activate the metronome by clicking its icon or using the C key on your keyboard. Overdubs require dedicated audio tracks to record onto. In Studio One, create a new track by typing T on the keyboard. A window opens up allowing you to select track type—in this case, audio. Opening the mixer window, you’ll be able to turnon
VOLUME AUTOMATION IN STUDIO ONE This is done by right-clicking the waveform symbol at the top righthand corner of a channel. Next, choose Expand Envelopes, at which point Studio One will open lanes of Volume and Panning automation below the given track. This is a simple way to see a track’s volume automation, especially when writing it in real-time. HOW TO IMPORT WAV FILES IN STUDIO ONE Once you’ve opened a blank session, find the Browse feature in the lower right corner of the page. Click the Files tab, and you’ll be able to browse all of the files on your computer, including the WAV clips you’re about to import. Simply drag and drop each clip from Studio One’s browser. Another way to import files is from Finder ona Mac.
HOW TO USE REVERB IN STUDIO ONE The first step is to right-click the Send button on the selected track and choose Add Bus for Selected Channels. Next, it’s a good idea to label the new bus something recognizable; in this case, “AcousBUS,” for acoustic guitar. What a send does is route the selected signal not only to the main outputs, but through this new buschannel as
USING DELAY IN REAPER ReaDelay is an incredible plugin that comes with Reaper. Glenn loves it on vocals and lead guitar because it’s dead simple to use and sounds great. The first thing you’ll want to do is create a new track and load an instance of ReaDelay on it. In this example, Glenn demonstrates how to use a mono delay to make a stereo ping-pongeffect.
USING REVERB IN LOGIC PRO X Most DAWs require users to manually create Aux Return tracks. In Logic Pro X, simply open the mixer window, select which tracks you want to Send, and choose an available Bus. Logic will automatically create a properly routed Aux Return for you!
