PROJECT LINUS-MAKE A BLANKET DAY National Make a Blanket Day is a day set aside by Project Linus and our chapters to bring awareness to our mission. This can be accomplished in several ways, and is mostly left up to the discretion of the chapter coordinator depending on local resources and availability. Although the official day is always the 3rd Saturday inFebruary, it may
PROJECT LINUS-CHAPTER COORDINATOR STEP 1 Excellent leadership and communication skills are necessary. This is a management position. As a coordinator you will be making decisions for the chapter within the guidelines and policies of Project Linus. Chapters are opened for individuals only. No groups, guilds, clubs, or similar. These can include special blanket making days, volunteer drives, etc. Should your chapter have any such announcements then a calendar icon will appear in their listing. Our volunteers, known as “blanketeers,” provide new handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to seriously ill and traumatized children, ages 0-18. PROJECT LINUS-CHAPTER COORDINATOR STEP 1 Excellent leadership and communication skills are necessary. This is a management position. As a coordinator you will be making decisions for the chapter within the guidelines and policies of Project Linus. Chapters are opened for individuals only. No groups, guilds, clubs, or similar. Only one person per chapter may serve as the chapter PROJECT LINUS-FRIENDS We also depend upon helping hands from many businesses who provide monetary and/or product donations to aid us on our mission. We call these our “Friends of Project Linus.”. Below is a listing of many of these friends. Be sure to patronize their businesses, letting them know how much you appreciate their willingness to help Project Linus! PROJECT LINUS-2021 CONTEST WINNERS {LUCY'S LOVE NOTES!} Now that the 2021 Project Linus Mystery Quilt Contest has closed we are thrilled to announce and applaud the top fundraisers and their prizes. Thank you to our wonderful quilters for creating the 2020 Lucy's Love Notes quilt, entering it in the contest, and then asking others to support their efforts by donating to Project Linus. PROJECT LINUS PATTERN At the beginning of the next row, I knit the first 6 stitches, place a marker, do the mistake rib pattern (see above) until the last 9 stitches. Then I knit 2, purl 1, place marker and knit the last 6 stitches. Repeat until you reach the desired length, knit 6 more rows and bind off. PROJECT LINUS PATTERN Work 1 dc in ch-3 space at the end of row. Repeat Row 2 until piece measures approximately 36". Do not break off yarn. Continue around the corner and the remaining 3 sides of the blanket, working 1 sc-ch 2-2 dc clusters in each space. Slip st at the end. Break off with 3 inches of yarn and weave in yarn ends. Admire your work and then bring it NO-SEW FLEECE BLANKET INSTRUCTIONS Step 6.Tie a knot in the middle of each fringe. (A) Do not e the fringe too ghtly or at the base of the fringe. (B) Do not e two pieces of fringe t ogether.(C) The blanket must lay flat when finished. EXTRA NOTES: SMOKING: Project Linus cannot accept any blankets that have been made or stored in a PROJECT LINUS-CHAPTERS Volunteer Opportunities.
