HOW TO FIX WEBDRIVER HTTP ERROR 400 BAD CONTENT-LENGTH Here at PreviousNext, we have automated processes to ensure our PHP images are updated on a weekly basis. On September 22nd 2019, that update included a version bump to the curl library from 7.65.1 to 7.66.0.This had a cascading effect which resulted in builds across all of our projects failing javascript tests running against selenium/standalone-chrome containers. BETTER IMAGE OPTIMISATION IN DRUPAL Setting up automated image compression in Drupal 8. The Image Optimize module allows us to set up optimisation pipelines and attach them to our image styles. This allows us to set both site-wide and per-image style optimisation. After installing the Image Optimize module, head to the Image Optimize pipelines configuration (Configuration > Media WORKFLOWS: A NEW TOOL IN THE TOOLBOX At DrupalSouth 2017, I presented a session on the new Workflows module, which just went stable in Drupal 8.4.0. INTRO TO CHERRY PICKING WITH GIT When you are working with a team of developers on a medium to large sized project, managing the changes between a number of git branches can become a complex task. Sometimes you don't want to merge a whole branch into another, and only need to pick one or two specific commits. This process is called 'cherry picking'. INTRODUCING DRUPAL TESTING TRAITS: DRUPAL EXTENSION FOR Drupal allows writing tests for installation profiles. A profile can have sample content which is created during installation, like umami in Drupal core. Drupal allows writing tests for modules as well. A module can also have sample content which is created during installation or config import. Drupal Testing Traits allows writing tests for an already installed site. CONTROLLING ACCESS TO DRUPAL 8 ROUTES WITH ACCESS CHECKS Controlling Access with AccessCheck. In Using Drupal 8's new route controllers, our previous example, we are only checking that a user has a certain permission to access the route. What if we have some custom logic to check? In Drupal 7 we would use an access callback. BARE TEMPLATES: REMOVING UNNECESSARY MARKUP IN TWIG FILES In most of the projects we build, the HTML markup provided by core just gets in the way. There is way too many wrapper divs. This can cause issues when trying to create lean markup that matches what is produced in a generated styleguide.
