MANAGING COMPOSER GITHUB ACCESS WITH PERSONAL ACCESS All PreviousNext Drupal 8 projects are now managed using Composer. This is a powerful tool, and allows our projects to define both public and private modules or libraries, and their dependencies, and bring them all together. However, a if you require public or private modules which are hosted on GitHub you may run into the API Rate Limits. PRINTING ANY DRUPAL ENTITY TO PDF In Drupal 7 the most popular module for converting a Drupal node to a PDF was the Print module but late on in the Drupal 7 release cycle I wrote Entity Print, a solution that allowed you to print not only nodes but any Drupal entity to a PDF.. OBJECT-ORIENTED PAGE CALLBACKS FOR DRUPAL 7 In Drupal we use object-oriented page and form callbacks to ease our programmning burden This is a nice improvement that allows us to encapsulate the functionality of one or many page callbacks into objects, with all the benefits that brings. Is it possible for us to us object-oriented page callbacks in Drupal 7? With a few tricks, yesit is.
INTRODUCING THE FILE TO MEDIA MODULE by lee.rowlands / 23 April 2021. HOW TO FIX WEBDRIVER HTTP ERROR 400 BAD CONTENT-LENGTH Here at PreviousNext, we have automated processes to ensure our PHP images are updated on a weekly basis. On September 22nd 2019, that update included a version bump to the curl library from 7.65.1 to 7.66.0.This had a cascading effect which resulted in builds across all of our projects failing javascript tests running against selenium/standalone-chrome containers. WORKFLOWS: A NEW TOOL IN THE TOOLBOX At DrupalSouth 2017, I presented a session on the new Workflows module, which just went stable in Drupal 8.4.0. Workflows was split out from content moderation as a separate module, and can be used independently to create custom workflows. In this presentation, I gave a demonstration of how to create a basic workflow for an issuetracker.
USING THE NEW MEDIA LIBRARY IN DRUPAL 8.6 Drupal 8.6 has shipped with the Media Library! It’s just one part of the latest round of improvements from the Media Initiative, but what a great improvement! Being brand new it’s still in the “experimental” module state but we’ve set it up on this website to test it out and are feeling pretty comfortable with its stability. CONTROLLING ACCESS TO DRUPAL 8 ROUTES WITH ACCESS CHECKS Controlling Access with AccessCheck. In Using Drupal 8's new route controllers, our previous example, we are only checking that a user has a certain permission to access the route. What if we have some custom logic to check? In Drupal 7 we would use an access callback. In Drupal 8 we need to create an implementation of AccessCheckInterface and define it as a service in the dependency INTRO TO CHERRY PICKING WITH GIT When you are working with a team of developers on a medium to large sized project, managing the changes between a number of git branches can become a complex task. Sometimes you don't want to merge a whole branch into another, and only need to pick one or two specific commits. This process is called 'cherry picking'.ABOUT PREVIOUSNEXT

BARE TEMPLATES: REMOVING UNNECESSARY MARKUP IN TWIG FILES In most of the projects we build, the HTML markup provided by core just gets in the way. There is way too many wrapper divs. This can cause issues when trying to create lean markup that matches what is produced in a generated styleguide. In this post, I'll introduce you to the concept of bare templates, and how you can remove unnecessary markup from your Twig templates. Skip to main contentPrevious Next
