SEWING A BENCH CUSHION WITH PIPING 1. Lay the top panel right side up on top of the cushion. Pin the piping on top of the fabric. Line up the piping with the edges of the cushion. Be sure the raw edge of your piping is facing the raw edge of the fabric. When you reach a corner, snip into the raw edge of the piping all the way (but not through) the rope piping. EASY FIX FOR A SCREEN/STORM DOOR CLOSER Loosen the screws from the bracket on the screen door to remove the bracket. Loosen the screws from the door jamb bracket and remove. Attach the new bracket to the door jamb with provided screws. Slide hold open clip up against the closer barrel. Insert the pin into the closer barrel and the jamb bracket. Install new bracket onto screen

PAINT COLORS IN MY HOME Kitchen: Sherwin Williams Copen Blue, Aesthetic White and Benjamin Moore Oxford White. Adjacent to the mudroom is our kitchen. The colors were carefully chosen to be soothing and cheerful. The white color was pulled from the Kith Cabinets as the closest match to the white cabinets and used on all the trim and planks. It was heat and fire resistant and the glues that contain asbestos work REALLY well. You can’t get glue for vinyl flooring today that sticks as well as the asbestos based glues. Thankfully, asbestos has been banned in the US. NO SEW PATIO TABLECLOTH WITH UMBRELLA HOLE Iron the tape in place. 2. Peel off the backing from the fusible tape. 3. Open the flaps up. 4. Press the flaps open and melt the fusible web to glue the tabs open. Paint the edges of the tabs with the clear nail polish or fray check. Lay your new tablecloth over TWO WAYS TO FIX A SCREW THAT'S TOO LONG First measure the excess screw length. Mark that distance + 1/16″ more on the screw. Use a pair of wire strippers (affiliate link to the strippers I own and love) and thread the screw into a hole on the pliers (the one that fits best.) The mark should be inside HOW TO BUILD DECORATIVE GABLE ATTIC VENTS How to Build Decorative Gable Attic Vents. When I purchased the Saving Etta house (a Triple-A construction house built in 1900), I fell in love with the decorative gable attic vent shape at first sight. The little diamonds decorating each gable had my heart skipping a beat, even if she really needed a full gut job and renovation. HOW TO CREATE AN INEXPENSIVE MULCH AND STONE WALKWAY Continue setting a peg every 4-6 feet (and especially at the peak of any curves.) Repeat for the other side of your path. Open a bag of mulch and spread to the top of your stones and the edging. Use the back side of your garden rake to smooth the mulch and eliminate any high or low spots. Repeat until you have filled your entire path. HOW TO MOVE A FLOOR REGISTER IN A WINDOW SEAT Set the floor register box on the base plate and mark the two sides of the metal box. 4. Build the front wall of the window seat, spacing the two studs snuggly on either side of the register box. 5. The 90 degree register box I used overlaps the 2×4″ baseplate slightly. Trace around the overlap to cut out with the Dremel Multi-Max.
