SOLVED.. ***BEWARE*** 150 PRADO TOWING GCM LIMITATION Whilst doing some research on towing, I found some interesting information that could impact anyone towing more than 2500 kg with the new 150kW/500Nm Prado. HOW TO DEACTIVATE SCHOOL ZONE Hi, I just bought a VX 2021 and I can't find anywhere how to deactivate the Toyota voice warning entering and exiting school zone. I checked the navigation detailed setting and turned off RSA but still not doing it. Thanks FLAT TAILGATE REVIEWS. Flat tailgate does make it feel like a “new” car, hatch great to throw stuff in the boot especially in tight parking lots & in the rain. Rear door is really light without the tyre. Parking on hills, door doesn’t fly open or slam closing. Fuel tank takes a bit ofgetting used
MAP SENSOR FILTER CRACKED. It's a pretty easy thing to check once the engine cover is off. You'll see the MAP sensor toward the front of the engine on the LHS and it is connected via a hose to the manifold near the EGR valve. In that hose is a round plastic filter. Simply disconnect it and blow through it to check for a blockage and seal your finger over one end and blow HELP: INJECTOR READINGS Performance, Fuel consumption, maintenence, mods. 2010 Kakadu. Titan drawers. 03-03-2018, 11:05 PM. I bought some of the "Titan" drawers from the "4WD Supacentre" in Lilydale today. Looking at them in a friends car they looked great and he said he was happy with them. He did say he was a little disappointed in 4WD Supacentre because they said the 120 ones would fit the 90 series (they don't sell 90 series TIMING CHAIN PROBLEMS 2016 MODEL 2.8 DIE the timing chain issue is common across all body variants using the 1GD motor , and in multiple countries. There is no rhyme or reason , some are achieving high mileages with no issues and yet others are getting the noise , and therefore warranty replacements at around 30,000klm. The Prado motor is slightly different to Hilux and Fortuneras it
DIY ENGINE OIL CHANGE A 30 grade SM oil will carry the load and heat stress with a very very thin oil film and greater flows through fine tolerences. Once you go thicker, eg 20W-50 etc, the oil is really too think for the fine tolerences of todays engines - hence older cars are suggested to use15W-50, 20W-50 etc.
TIMING BELT INDICATOR LIGHT 4. Hold in ODO/TRIP button while pushing ignition button twice (ignition back on) and then hold ODO/TRIP button for at least 5 seconds. T-Belt light flashes. 5. Turn ODO/TRIP button OFF then back on again all within 5 seconds. 6. Trip B then displays the increment in km to next change of Timing Belt. 7. TIMING BELT WARNING LIGHT 07-10-2007, 12:55 AM. The 'timing belt warning light' comes on when the timing belt is due for a change as you approach the scheduled service interval. The computer gets the odometer reading and flags the 'timing belt' for changing. My Fuel economy has been gradually getting worse and not having driven the vehicle for some time the Mrs was complaining about the vehicle being down on power.SPARE WHEEL WEIGHT

Unless you have done physical damage to the vehicle - smacking a rock while 4wding or something - your problem should be Toyota's problem and they should bear the cost of LARGER TYRES FOR 120 PRADO Well, my speedo reads 6% slow without the speedo-matic - enough to done for speeding, by 6km or more, if you use the speedo reading as gospel. Check out Fleabay for rear wheel carriers. Horsepower get them from the same factory as Powerful 4x4 and MCC. Worth the money especially with big tyres.CORRECT ENGINE OIL?
Hi Roo, Thanks for the reply, I agree about getting the oil right as it is cheaper than an engine rebuild for sure. I spent a bit of time on the Castrol and Penrite web sites and looked up the spec sheets for the oil you mentioned and also looked up the specs for the oil quoted in the prado hand book and I have put their specs below, it would seem the biggest differance is the start up HELP: INJECTOR READINGS Performance, Fuel consumption, maintenence, mods. 2010 Kakadu. Factory Inverter. Today while fitting the ERPS I had a good look at the little inverter. There is no space to fit a larger unit and the wiring is totally inadequate to use for any other device, best to just keep this 100W inverter as is. Anthony, If you are going to do any fairdinkum touring, corrugations especially, it is a good idea to get that wheel off the door as it stuffs the body around where the hinges are mounted. Check out Fleabay for rear wheel carriers. Horsepower get them from the same factory as Powerful 4x4 and MCC. Worth the money especially with big tyres. There are 5 clips on the bottom inside of the door trim panel and 3 up each end. Use your fingers and the panel pulls away easily. Pull from the bottom and work your way to the top. WHEEL NUT TORQUE SETTING? The stud elongates to an elastic amount when the correct torque is applied. If the stud has no lubricant it will grab and not provide the correct amount of force to keep the wheel on the hub. Over tightening the nut will elongate the stud past its elastic limit and this willcause failure.

Hi All. 150 Diesel Prado, automatic, 230000kms. Had a few issues lately so trying to understand some of them. Twice in the last 2 weeks the starter motor has sounded like it stays on for a second after the car starts, kinda like when you turn the key after the car has started (obv my prado has the pushbutton).
PROCESS TO CLEAN INTAKE MANIFOLD AND BLOCK EGR So how did you guys go? I have a 2004 3.0l Grande TD Prado, pretty sure its the 1KZ-TE, I had read these dont have EGR however. Those russian instructions are a nightmare.enough to put me off attempting to clean the inlet manifold for sure. MAP SENSOR FILTER CRACKED. It's a pretty easy thing to check once the engine cover is off. You'll see the MAP sensor toward the front of the engine on the LHS and it is connected via a hose to the manifold near the EGR valve. In that hose is a round plastic filter. Simply disconnect it and blow through it to check for a blockage and seal your finger over one end and blow PRADO 1997 - 4WD SELECTOR GETTING STUCK IN 4HL. - TOYOTA Re: Prado 1997 - 4WD selector getting stuck in 4Hl. Torjan thanks a million for the advice , saved me a huge amount of money . Magic ,Just now Replaced My current BF goodrich which I think is the cause of all this with a a new set of tyres ( Maxxis 750 ) . ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT GUIDE Step 4. Remove serpentine belt. Tools used: 1/2 Breaker bar, 14mm socket. Locate the tensioner pulley and get the socket onto it (fiddly) then push the bar from the passenger to the drivers side and this will release the tension on the belt. Remove belt from the alternator. Takes a bit of muscle! WAECO COOLPOWER 36 PORTABLE BATTERY Pradopolous. Sounds like a moist plug. Remove any electrical plug, be carful with the clips and spray with WD 40 and compressed air. VSC TRC AND VSC OFF WARNING LIGHTS ON AFTER BATTERY I have a 2003 Prado 120 Grande 4.0 petrol. I attached another light bar today and in doing so I had to disconnect the battery. After i had reconnected everything the VSC TRC and VSC OFF lights are illuminatedon the dash.
