APPRAISAL AND REGISTRATION The documents are designed to be used by: - School leaders when designing and implementing appraisal policies and practices. - Middle leaders in schools thinking about how to make appraisal work in their learning area or department. - The PPTA branch if it would like to engage with the school's leadership about appraisal practices. SECONDARY TEACHERS' COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT (STCA) These are the conditions of employment, salary rates, rights and entitlements for PPTA Te Wehengarua members in secondary schools, intermediates and technology centres. This agreement came into force on 1 July 2019 and expires on 30 June 2022. Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement (STCA) 2019-2022.DAY RELIEVERS
The subscription for day relieving members is 1% of any income earned from relieving. If you do not earn any income in any week there is no sub payment due for that week but you remain a member of PPTA. However, if a year elapses since your last sub payment your membershipalso lapses.
PART 4: REMUNERATION (YOUR PAY) 4.3.2 Until 27 January 2020 the rate of each permanent or fixed term unit is $4,000 per annum. From 28 January 2020 the rate of each permanent or fixed term unit is $5,000 per annum. 4.3.3 Units are not divisible and must be paid at the substantive rate to both full-time and part-time teachers. *OLD* GUIDANCE COUNSELLORS Guidance counsellors have been a part of secondary education in New Zealand since the late 1960s. Their clients are students, staff and families/whanau in the school community. The school guidance counsellor role includes: Helping clients to explore their difficulties and concerns, and to develop their capabilities andresilience.
EDUCATION CHANGE MANAGEMENT TOOLKIT This toolkit contains general principles for implementing successful education change in schools. Included in the toolkit is a draft policy which branches can discuss with their boards. Education Change Management Toolkit (2016) Effective change is not a random act. MMAs - the basics. MMAs are "additional salary recognition for current designated curriculum and/or pastoral management responsibilities to support recruitment and retention of teachers who hold these responsibilities": Until 27th January 2020 they are worth $1,000 p.a. and $2,000 p.a. after that. They are paid as part of the fortnightlysalary.

Trained health and safety representatives are responsible for promoting positive health and safety in the school environment, identifying risks and working with management to findsolutions.
GUIDELINES FOR TEACHERS CONSIDERING RETIREMENT 1. What are the alternatives? For those who may no longer want to work full-time, there are sometimes alternatives to a full retirement. It may be worth considering the voluntary relinquishment of units, and/or altering one's job from a permanent full-time to a permanent part-time position, or changing to a job share position.; Sometimes a period of leave may be all that is needed to rekindle FIXED-TERM AGREEMENTS 3.2.3 Fixed-term (non-permanent) employment.
