The royalties are shared between PPL and PRS for Music based on which of their respective licensing tariffs apply to the music usage under your licence, and the costs due under those tariffs. RESTAURANTS & CAFÈS A restaurant or café with up to 30 seats, and an audible area below 400 sqm, playing music via the radio, could play music from only 78p a day*. There are a range of tariffs to cover the different uses of music across various venue types. However, the cost of TheMusicLicence will vary according to your music use. CINEMA MUSIC LICENCE Whether you’re playing music in a foyer, bar area or in films, you’ll usually need TheMusicLicence for your cinema. By obtaining TheMusicLicence you’ll be able to play PRS for Music and PPL music legally in your cinema and enjoy its benefits whilst ensuring that its creators are fairly rewarded for their work.
