SIGNS OF POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY IN MEN Signs of Postpartum Depression and Anxiety in Men. Men and women can experience depression very differently. Here are some symptoms that are common in men: Increased anger and conflict with others. Increased use of alcohol or prescription/street drugs. Frustration or irritability. Violent behaviour. Significant weight gain or loss. MEN AND POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION These numbers show that postpartum depression can be a debilitating and common disorder experienced by men. Like PPD in women, certain risk factors are thought to be linked to fathers and postnatal depression. These can include: a history of depression, fathering at a young age, fears associated with parenting, lack of sleep, hormonalchanges

PACIFIC POST PARTUM SUPPORT SOCIETY COVID19 UPDATE. We would like to start by thanking everyone who has reached out to us for support during this stressful time. We know how much courage it takes to pick up the phone and make that call, and we are always so grateful and honoured to be able to offer our services. We are still committed to maintaining our supports as fully as possible during this time. PHONE AND TEXT SUPPORT. Our phone support is active and available during our usual hours, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. Please leave a detailed message and clearly state your name and phone number, so staff cancall you back.
We will be checking messages and calling back as quickly as possible. Our staff are working from home and therefore calling from private numbers. If your cell phone does NOT receive calls from blocked or private numbers, please let us know when you leave a message, either on our voicemail or by text. We have staff members in the office (health permitting) twice a week who can make calls from our landlines there. Text support remains the same, please text in anytime between 10 and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday.GROUPS.
Our support groups are all running online, using Zoom. We have, in addition to our usual groups, been able to start offering a province wide group and a 2sLGBTQ+ group. This is a time when it is so important that we remain connected. We are grateful that our services can still be accessed in this way and hope that you will reach out for support when needed! We are also very grateful for any donations that can help keep our services running. You can donate using the CanadaHelps button on theside.
