There is a lot of anxiety in the Democratic ranks regarding Republican ploys to prevent a full and fair impeachment trial for Trump in the Senate. We've already climbed the initial roadblock we feared: an outright immediate dismissal in the Senate of any trial at all. We have Speaker Nancy Pelosi to thank for that, and her ability to not only lead, but listen to the brilliant team surrounding her. Holding the articles for a few weeks has turned outright dismissal of a trial from a real possibility to certain political suicide for the GOP, and we now have assurances that the trial will indeed, proceed. The next obstacle, however, involves whether or not Republicans in the Senate will allow witnesses to be heard. Cancel culture strikes again: Banned in Maine by Michelle Malkin

In November, I was banned in Boston after speech-squelchers on the left and right forced the cancellation of my lecture at Bentley University, a small private institution. The grassroots activists who had invited me were rejected by every major event venue in the nation’s purported Cradle of Liberty. The tail-tuckers cited security concerns or jacked up their rental fees to make it prohibitively expensive to gather peacefully to discuss—gasp!—ideas. Lou Murray of Bostonians Against Sanctuary Cities and Jessica Vaughan of the Center for Immigration Studies heroically persisted, pulling together a great event at a private home attended by 100 patriots who risked their privacy, friendships and even their jobs to listen to—gasp!—ideas. Who decides who gets in? by Michelle Malkin

My plan to “Keep America Great” is very simple: 1) Stop exporting American soldiers to countries that hate our guts. 2) Stop importing people from countries that hate our guts. When I voted for Donald Trump in 2016, I thought this was the plan. The “America First” champion rightly assailed Barack Obama for recklessly endangering the lives of our soldiers to pursue politically driven endless wars. President Trump promised to build an effective wall on the southern border. He enacted tough travel restrictions, upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court, on visitors from countries whose terror-coddling governments pose national security threats. Yet, here we are at the dawn of 2020 with thousands of U.S. troops headed back to the Stone Age Middle East maw, Mexican drug cartels on the loose while our Border Patrol hands out diapers ... Jill Biden, meet Cpl. Ronil Singh and Deputy Brian Ishmael by Michelle Malkin

The last time I checked, Joe Biden was running for president of the United States. But his wife, Jill Biden, demonstrated where the beltway Democratic couple’s allegiance and compassion are rooted this Christmas season: Mexico. Biden traveled to a camp in Matamoros on the southern border this week bearing gifts and meals for Central American migrants — all hoping to trespass across the border illegally or exploit our asylum system with the help of “Open Borders Inc.” profiteers. Biden was accompanied by the executive director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley.

While the nation is distracted with bread and circuses, Open Borders Inc. lobbyists have stuffed the latest 2020 National Defense Authorization Act with all sorts of hidden goodies. Case in point: The mass amnesty for thousands of Liberian illegal aliens
Minnesota’s Liberian community is celebrating the passage of a long-awaited measure that gives permanent residency to those who have been living here for decades under temporary protections. The U.S. Senate on Tuesday approved the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act, which included an amendment that offered a path to American citizenship for Liberians currently under Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) status. The $768 billion spending package, which passed the House last week and President Donald Trump has said he will sign, would prevent the deportation of many Liberians that was set to take place after March 31. Most Americans have never heard of this program. But if you’ve been ...

Illegal alien drivers: Out of the shadows…and into the voting booth? by Michelle Malkin

My teenage son is a law-abiding American citizen. To obtain his driver’s permit this year, he brought his birth certificate, Social Security card, passport and verification that he completed an approved driver’s school course. It took a half-dozen trips back and forth between various government agencies to clear all the paperwork hurdles.
Every American citizen who has navigated such bureaucratic hurdles at a local Department of Motor Vehicles should be outraged at the open borders spectacles in New Jersey and New York this week. With the impeachment charade absorbing all the national media’s oxygen, however, you probably didn’t see more than a 10-second blip of these alarming developments on TV. I am coming to think that there is a permanent group -- call them the Fearful Fifth -- who want a strongman to govern. This layer is the base of nationalist movements all over the world. I was given some insight into this way of thinking from a workman with whom I was discussing elections. He said he "wasn't into that politics stuff." He was OK with whoever won because if they messed it up too much, the military would declare martial law. He described himself as a military brat. He offered that this casual acceptance of martial law was his father's view of the normal way to make order in disorderly countries. This week will have guest bloggers from my Sociology Senior Seminar on Public Sociology. I remember the first week of my college like it was yesterday. I drove eight and a half hours from Pennsylvania with my mother. We are from a bigger city than where we were headed. Driving into Danville, at first, I immediately second guessed my decision because of the demographics and pure relative size of Danville. I had stepped into a town that, normally, at home we would consider to be “country” and “redneck” because of its small town, antique feeling it emitted. I did not realize that to the citizens of Danville, and even Louisville and Lexington natives considered to be more refined than an actual country town, especially due to the prestigious nature of the college. My whole definition of southern towns was altered, and thus gave me hope for the next four years ...

This week we will have guest bloggers from my Sociology Senior Seminar on Public Sociology. Recently, I have been interested in thinking more critically about birth order, especially within my own family. Particularly, I have been wondering if there could be a connection between the rigidness of birth order expressed in children and the political ideologies of the family, mainly the parents. I know that it is nearly impossible to compare specific families, especially combine with their political views. For this reason, I will be focusing on my own family and personal experiences. I want to explore the idea that dynamic choices for children are not invalidated by parents, a child in a liberal family will likely feel comfortable choosing different paths. But, those paths might likely relate to the parents and those family ideologies. A little background- I am the third of four sisters. My eldest sister, Nettie, is ... A Liberal Birth Order? THE BLAZE

On Saturday evening, President Trump's legal formally responded to House Democrats' impeachment of the nation's 45th commander-in-chief. In a six-page document obtained by CNN, Trump's lawyers call the charges "constitutionally invalid" and "nothing more than a dangerous attack on the American people." "President Trump categorically and unequivocally denies each and every allegation in both articles of impeachment," the document reads, according to CNN.
A source close to Trump's legal team told Reuters that the president is on "strong legal footing." Adding, "The president has done nothing wrong and we believe that will be borne out in this process." The president's lawyers contend in the document: "The Articles of Impeachment are constitutionally invalid on their face. Here is a thought concerning the oft-expressed assertion that an overrepresentation in the number of Nobel Prizes awarded to individuals of Jewish descent is an indicator of Jewish intelligence, or what may be described as the Nobel Prize Per Nation (NPPN) hypothesis. What got me thinking about this was that on Russia Today, it was pointed out by a Los Angeles film critic that the film Jojo Rabbit, which has been nominated for six Oscars, is an average film that would never have been nominated for an award if its subject matter was not the Holocaust. So, it should be possible to count up the number of Oscar nominations awarded to Holocaust-related films, then compare the Oscar nomination/Holocaust film ratio to the ratio of Oscars nominations given to all non-Holocaust films. But two medical researchers, including a 'pro-choice' British pain expert who used to think there was no chance foetuses could feel pain that early, say recent studies strongly suggest the assumption is incorrect.

Any trial without witnesses will be rightly recorded by hindsight and history as a complete sham. A complicit cover-up for the most openly corrupt, mercenary ...

The Fearful Fifth (I hope it is only a fifth) does not fear fascism. They welcome it as the ultimate, and perhaps only, solution to the problems of government. Insight Into the Fearful Fifth *

They fail to engage any crime or violation of law whatsoever, let alone 'high Crimes and Misdemeanors,' as required by the Constitution. They are the result of a lawless process ... In the days leading up to the House of Representatives passing the articles of impeachment against President Trump, Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi told members of her party to appear "solemn" during proceedings. "Don't cheer, keep it solemn," Pelosi said, according to a swing-district Democrat. One month later, and the appearances of solemnity appears to have gone out the window.
In an appearance on Bill Maher's show on Friday night, the House Speaker fist-bumped the comedian. "Thank you so much for waiting to we got back on the air before starting the impeachment," said Maher to a laughing Pelosi. Adding, "that deserves a fist-bump, thank you" as he fist-bumped the House Speaker.

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz explained Friday that Democrats' claims that President Donald Trump abused his power is not an actual "impeachable offense." Democrats approved two articles of impeachment against Trump last month: one for abuse of power and another for obstruction of Congress. Dershowitz has already explained how the Supreme Court could undercut the allegations of obstruction of Congress, and on MSNBC Friday, Dershowitz told MSNBC host Ari Melber how Democrats claim of abuse of power falls flat, too. "Abuse of power, even if proved, is not an impeachable offense," Derwshowitz said.
"That's exactly what the framers rejected. They didn't want to give Congress the authority to remove a president because he abused his power," he explained. The first Women's March in 2017, held the day after President Donald Trump was inaugurated, drew millions of protestors across the country, but Saturday's iteration of the annual protest could barely muster 100 supporters in some cities. Three years ago, the organizers of the Women's March boasted having over 400,000 attendees at their protest in New York City. According to the Associated Press, only "hundreds of people" showed up to the "Rise and Roar" rallies in Foley Square and Columbus Circle. The protestors told reporters they were marching in support of abortion rights, immigration, and climate change issues. They are also heavily critical of Trump.
Even the media is noting the decline in enthusiasm around the marches. The AP described the number of Washington, D.C., protestors as being "far fewer than last year when about 100,000 people held a rally east of the White ...

She meant I'm the only one running for president whose actually been on the executive side of the federal government. The wrongness I'm seeing is the idea that government means national government. My hypothesis is that the Holocaust film overperformance will actually exceed the reported statistical Nobel Prize overperformance of ... Falsifying the NPPN hypothesis *
Of course the medical and scientific communities lied about unborn children not feeling pain: Unborn babies may be able to feel pain before reaching 24 weeks, say scientists – meaning they could suffer as they are being aborted. Until now, the consensus of medical opinion has been that foetuses cannot feel pain before 24 weeks' gestation, after which abortion is illegal in Britain except in special cases. But two medical researchers, including a 'pro-choice' British pain expert who used to think there was no chance foetuses could feel pain that early, say recent studies strongly suggest the assumption is incorrect.

I've seen this facial recognition software in action. It's both creepy and impressive. Until recently, Hoan Ton-That’s greatest hits included an obscure iPhone game and an app that let people put Donald Trump’s distinctive yellow hair on their own photos. His tiny company, Clearview AI, devised a groundbreaking facial recognition app. You take a picture of a person, upload it and get to see public photos of that person, along with links to where those photos appeared. The last time I checked, Joe Biden was running for president of the United States.

THE BLAZE

A source close to Trump's legal team told Reuters that the president is on "strong legal footing." Adding, "The president has done nothing wrong and we believe that will be borne out in this process." The president's lawyers contend in the document: "The Articles of Impeachment are constitutionally invalid on their face. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) thinks Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, are corrupt — and he wants the world to know it. Speaking with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday, Paul explained why he believes the "corruption" surrounding the Biden's — centering on Hunter's work with Burisma while his father, as vice president, oversaw U.S.-Ukrainian relations — needs further exploration during President Donald Trump's impeachment trial. Did she "think" wrong? The Washington Examiner points out that Bernie Sanders was mayor of Burlington, Vermont (long ago), Pete Buttigieg was mayor South Bend, Indiana, and Michael Bloomberg was that mayor of New York City. But I think I know what she meant, and it's wrong in a different way than forgetting that Sanders, Buttigieg, and Bloomberg have been mayors and mayor is an executive position. She meant I'm the only one running for president whose actually been on the executive side of the federal government. The wrongness I'm seeing is the idea that government means national government.
The studies indicate unborn babies might be able to feel 'something like pain' as early as 13 weeks, they say.Reason dictated that no abortions be permitted until it was possible to conclusively determine when life began. I've seen this facial recognition software in action. It's both creepy and impressive. Until recently, Hoan Ton-That’s greatest hits included an obscure iPhone game and an app that let people put Donald Trump’s distinctive yellow hair on their own photos. Then Mr. Ton-That — an Australian techie and onetime model — did something momentous: He invented a tool that could end your ability to walk down the street anonymously, and provided it to hundreds of law enforcement agencies, ranging from local cops in Florida to the F.B.I. and the Department of Homeland Security. His tiny company, Clearview AI, devised a groundbreaking facial recognition app. You take a picture of a person, upload it and get to see public photos of that person, along with links to where those photos appeared. Any trial without witnesses will be rightly recorded by hindsight and history as a complete sham. A complicit cover-up for the most openly corrupt, mercenary ... The group Republicans for the Rule of Law, a group you may remember produced a video of former conservative prosecutors explaining how and why Donald Trump needed to be impeached for breaking the law, has released another video. This time, in the wake of the news that former President Clinton investigator Ken Starr is joining Donald Trump’s impeachment defense team, Republicans for the Rule of Law seems to want to remind Ken Starr of his own legal positions on obstruction ofjustice.
They have been releasing excerpts of video from Starr’s 1998 testimony to Congress, where he outlined his belief that then President Bill Clinton had obstructed justice as Starr investigated Clinton’s extramarital affair.read more

Former federal prosecutor, Glenn Kirschner, joined the AM Joy panel on Saturday morning to discuss all things Trump, Barr, Ukraine and Lev Parnas. And the reality is, as Kirschner points out, that we will never know what is really going on until Trump leaves office — with a less corrupt administration, and the creation of a commission to conduct thorough investigations — a "Trump Crime Commission."read more

Any trial without witnesses will be rightly recorded by hindsight and history as a complete sham. A complicit cover-up for the most openly corrupt, mercenary ... Biden was accompanied by the executive director of Catholic Charities of the RioGrande Valley.

My whole definition of southern towns was altered, and thus gave me hope for the next fouryears ...

A Liberal Birth Order?THE BLAZE

On Saturday evening, President Trump's legal formally responded to House Democrats' impeachment of the nation's 45th commander-in-chief. My hypothesis is that the Holocaust film overperformance will actually exceed the reported statistical Nobel Prize overperformance of ... Falsifying the NPPN hypothesis*

The former His Royal Highness didn't: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will no longer use HRH titles, will REPAY £2.4million of public cash spent on their Frogmore Cottage home and receive no more public cash.Notice how behavioral patterns trumped situational status here. UPDATE: Apparently reports that they will not be using HRH titles are not correct, as Meghan Markle has already sent out a tweet using it.Posted by Vox Day.

The system — whose backbone is a database of more than three billion images that Clearview claims ... Where everybody knows your face*
I was pretty sure that I was faster than Derrick Henry back in the day, but I didn't realize I was THAT much faster: Also a standout track & field athlete, Henry competed as a sprinter at Yulee from 2010 to 2011. He posted a personal-best time of 11.11 seconds in the 100-meter dash at the 2011 FHSAA 2A District 3 Championships, where he placed seventh.I found that mildly amusing, as my best high school 100-meter time was 10.82. Of course, it's not just Henry's speed that makes him a great running back. It's one thing to run that fast at 135 pounds, it's another thing to do it at 235. I remember watching Darrell Thompson play at the University of Minnesota during my college track days and thinking, "I wonder if I could do that? He's slower than me... but then ...Apples to apples

The truth is that many of the U.S. military's leaders and senior officials are losers, dopes, and babies. Just look at their track record. They're fortunate that Trump isn't as ruthless as Stalin, who would have had them all shot for their obvious inability to complete their missions, if not treason: The president reportedly called Afghanistan a “loser war,” and told his military leaders: “You’re all losers... You don’t know how to win anymore... I want to win... We don’t win any wars anymore... We spend $7 trillion, everybody else got the oil and we’re not winning anymore.” It’s reported that Trump was so angry at this point that he wasn’t breathing properly. In his most incendiary comment, Trump—a man who, remember, managed to get out of military duty in Vietnam due to a supposed bone-spur problem—is said ... It's not as if he's wrongCROOKS AND LIARS

It's another Sunday, and time to see how the debate is framed on all the bobblehead shows. THE story is the upcoming impeachment trial, with Fox type lawyers defending Trump and the Democratic Congresspeople prosecuting himmaking the rounds.
Here's the lineup:

We all know that Trump has been able to get away with even more criming than we feared because Bill Barr is protecting, enabling, and possibly preventing witnesses from coming forward (see Jeffrey Epstein.) And the reality is, as Kirschner points out, that we will never know what is really going on until Trump leaves office — with a less corrupt administration, and the creation of a commission to conduct thorough investigations — a "Trump Crime Commission."read more

Are those echos of Stalin we hear? As David Gura reported, based on The Washington Post, The National Archives altered photos from the Women's March that were critical of Donald Trump. To be clear, these photos were altered to remove the criticism. Why would what is essentially one of our most treasured libraries, entrusted to hold documents reflective of our nations history and growth, engage in such an act of censorship?read more

Any trial without witnesses will be rightly recorded by hindsight and history as a complete sham. A complicit cover-up for the most openly corrupt, mercenary ...
