In 1997, the merger of French corporations Compagnie Financière de Suez and Lyonnaise des Eaux created the energy, waste and water infrastructure company Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux. In 2008, after years of mergers, acquisitions and corporate realignment, the company – which by then was known simply as ‘Suez’ – was split into two separate entities: GDF SUEZ and Suez Environnement. TransCanada est la compagnie qui fait la promotion des projets d'oléoducs comme Énergie Est et Keystone XL ainsi que plusieurs autres projets de gazoducs. Nous espérons partager cette ressource avec le plus de militants et communautés le long des routes des pipelines de TransCanada que possible. Today the Polaris Institute has release an in-depth report titled “ Unplugging the Dirty Energy Economy: A Corporate Profile of the Canadian Pipeline Company TransCanada.”
TransCanada is the company behind the Energy East and Keystone XL oil pipeline projects as well as many other natural gas pipeline projects. It is our hope to share this resource with as many relevant activists and communities along the route of TransCanada pipelines as possible.
