HISTORY | PLAYERS BY THE SEA Players by the Sea was founded in 1966 by three energetic, creative beaches couples who shared a love of theatre. The uninterrupted fifty year history of Players by the Sea, much of it in borrowed or rented performance spaces, testifies to the enthusiastic loyalty of its beaches audiences and to the ingenuity and passion of volunteers drawn from all over the Jacksonville area.COVID-19 UPDATE
The health and safety of the Players community is our foremost concern. What follows is an update on the impact that the current health crisis is having on PBTS programs and our plans to work with you to retain the value of your existing purchases. At this stage, these plans are subject to further direction from the CDC regardingthe COVID-19

YOUNG CREATIVE ARTISTS SERIES Young Creative Artists Series was born out of a chance meeting between theatre students from Fletcher High School and PBTS. In addition to the New Voices program, Players by the Sea has hosted work by local writers such as Al Letson, Barbara Colaciello, Joshua McTiernan, David Sacks, Olivia Gowan, and Derek Coughlin, to name a few. NEW VOICES | PLAYERS BY THE SEA The birth of New Voices has paved the way for writers across four counties (Duval, St. Johns, Clay & Nassau) to emerge and apply to have their work selected, workshopped, developed, and produced.
