GIRSAN REGARD
Girsan Regard. First post on the forum. Wanted to share a recent pick-up - the Girsan Regard. Imported from Turkey by EAA. Purchased this from Guns Midwest for $340 all in including shipping and CC fee. My FFL is a gun dealer and hand a couple Beretta variants on hand and the fit, finish and trigger all appeared very similar to the Regard. HK SLIMLINE STRIKER PISTOL So it appears HK was recently granted a U.S. patent for the "ornamental" appearance of a new slim version of the VP9. Looks like HK's answer to the P365, Shield, Hellcat, G43X etc. HITS REVOLVER SUPER TEST Wayne and I came up with the "Super Test" and Advanced Super Test for semi autos awhile ago and find it to be a great shooting drill. We modified it for Revolvers. 1. 15 yards, 6 rounds 12 seconds. 2. 10 yards, 6 rounds 8 seconds. 3. 5 yards, 6 rounds 4 seconds. Advanced version is same times from the holster. We score it by the rings on aB8 Bull.

WHAT DID YOU SHOOT TODAY? I've seen this type of thread at a couple of other places and they're fun. Today was 9mm and working on the fundamentals day. I've gotten into a bad habit of just wanting to ring the 15yd steel plates at the range so today's primary goal was to stay on the 7yd line and work on front sight focus, DA first shot from low ready and follow through.1911 SLIDE BINDING
I know there are members here who have more knowledge than I do about 1911s so here's one: A brand new pistol, 38 Super, went to the range for the first time recently. It shot just fine, no malfunctions of any kind. Later I decided to clean and lube the gun and when reassembling it the slide started to bind in the frame. After a few attempts it got to the point where it was impossible to getGLOCK 19 OR 45?
As noted earlier in the thread, The shape of the G17/45 grip is slightly different than that of the G19. The G19 having a more pronounced “hump” which sits higher up on the back strap. Depending on hand size and shape most people’s performance slightlyfavors one or
RATCHET BELTS FOR CARRY 2021 Ratchet belts for carry 2021. My Wilderness Instructor’s Belt is getting pretty worn. I’ve been using leather ratchet belts for dress for a few years now (Mission, I think) and want to try something similar in nylon for EDC with jeans. I’m thinking the Blade-Tech Ultimate Carry Belt in nylon. GENERAL HOLOSUN PISTOL OPTIC THREAD While we have had a variety of threads on aspects of Holosun pistol optics, I don’t believe we have a general Holosun thread, so I thought we should start one given their increasing popularity. Historically, my sense is nearly 20 percent of Holosun optics fail out of the box or in the first few days of use, but if they get by that, they hold up reasonably well. SHOOTING INCIDENTS IN THE NEWS. The purpose of this thread is to discuss current shooting incidents or gun related news with respect to self defense and what we can all learn from them in the way of our own tactics. Intelligent debate, advice and comments are all welcome with respect to the given information. Hopefully this will also turn into a list of positive uses of firearms and will support the position of being pro-gunSWAMPFOX OPTICS
You need the total package- a polymer housing and/or lens alone is not enough. In my indirect experience (several friends carrying them) the all-plastic Romeo Zero is, to borrow a particularly pithy phrase which, as far as I am aware, originated with a respected member of this forum, a Wretched, Pulsating Ball of Suck and Fail. I think a polymer housing puts significantly greater demands on WHAT OPTIC SHOULD I GET FOR STACCATO C2? I want to order a Staccato C2 and I want to get an optic and the correct plate through them. I'm also wanting to try a Holosun but not sure which model. I like that the 507k is small for carry and that they run the lower front site. Just lower height over bore and all that. But the 509 is cool too. Bigger and bulkier obviously and you need to run the taller front site. LONG-TERM THOUGHTS ON MY LANGDON LTT RDO Hey guys, I just wanted to do a little info dump on my Langdon LTT RDO. Full disclosure, I really never cared for RDOs. I put an RMR on a FNX tac years ago and I just didn't care for it. It was fantastic shooting at plates at 5o yards, but slow for everything else. Well, the world decided I was wrong so I decided I better give it another try (this may actually be try 3 but whatever). BLUE PORCH LIGHTS: "LIGHT OHIO BLUE" I did a quick search and didn't find this particular piece, so..I'm sure that I'm among the many here who have been reading Greg Ellifritz' blogs for years. He has given me so many "aha moments," not to mention the ongoing education he provides in so many areas. It's a sad commentary that Greg's writing is spot on. Greg Ellifritz just shared "Blue Porch Lights" for patrons only. March 21 for two hours, I will dive into looking at grappling where weapons may be present. The first one will focus on one of my personal favorites, and a particular "game" that I think has tons of applicability and efficacy for self-defense, the BJJ position known as halfguard. MY INITIAL IMPRESSION OF GEN 2 GALIL ACE PISTOL IN 7.62X39 Hey guys, Did some swapping and picked up a Gen 2 Ace. Mainly I did it because I am buying anything imported these days. I had a Gen 1 and although I liked it, I sold it a buddy a few years back. I was excited to pick it up because 7.62x39 is RELATIVELY cheap ($7.99 for 20) to pick up right now so shooting 100 rounds is expensive, but basically what I was spending to shoot my AR pistol a yearS&W 43C VS 317
I recently bought a 43C, to get more J frame trigger time at low cost and with low recoil. Works as you would expect, other than, surprising to me, it doesn't like Mini Mags. An objective with a .22, for training and other uses, is to be able to accurately place those little pills. The sights on the 43C, while visible, are not ideal for my use in precisely placing shots, as the sight picture HIT FACTOR SCORING AS AN EVALUATION OF SKILL GJM made some comments in Enels Training Journal that made me stop and do a lot of thinking. about my own training. I know that I have improved as a shooter a lot over the last 12 to 18 months but I struggle to quantify that improvement. I also struggle to come up with skill builders that will push me to improve accuracy at speed. I’m getting ready to load 125gr with H110 and a set of Lyman MSR dies that just showed up. I only have 1lb, so fortunately it’s not a high volume cartridge. I like that this is a small base die set and comes with a case gauge. "BJJ is sort of like nonconsensual yoga". BERETTA IS BRINGING IN MR73 REVOLVERS Thread: Beretta is bringing in MR73 revolvers. Manurhin MR73 frames are fully machined from forged ordonnance -certified steel billets for total reliability. The English in the brocure is not all that precise in many details, but "forged billet" is often another case of the speaker/writer not really knowing what they're talkingabout.

When I got it a year or so ago, the only ammo I could find was some 150gr S&B. I tried to shoot it yesterday to confirm 100yd zero with irons and man, the darn thing won't group worth a flip. I'm talking, can't even keep rounds on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper. I've never messed much with lever guns, at least not shooting them for accuracyFIRE EXTINGUISHERS
I was reading Greg Ellifritz's article on car/riot guns and he recommended a First Alert AF400 Tundra Fire Extinguishing Aerosol Spray. While I have a regular extinguisher for the house, seemed to me that thiis might be good to add to the 'stuff'. Anyway, I go to Amazon to order and get a message that it can't be shipped to my address. THE PX4 COMPACT MIGHT BE MY DA/SA GLOCK 19 The newest handgun on my radar screen is the Beretta PX4 Compact. I’ve never really given it a second thought even though it has been out and available for years. Some people really love the PX4. Some people don’t. I have heard great things about its accuracy and there are still a few police departments carrying the PX4 as their issuedside arm.

Looks like HK's answer to the P365, Shield, Hellcat, G43X etc. 300 BO OR BLK RELOADING Per the temptation of the PDW thread - I will make the 300BO move. I reload all my practice ammo - will use the 110 Barnes for serious work. I have plenty of 300 BO brass that I collected over the years. I have plenty of 223 brass to convert with a Harbor Freight cutoff saw in route and a 3d printed jig on hand. Got some Lil Gun powder on hand from a previous project and primers. BERETTA IS BRINGING IN MR73 REVOLVERS This is a quote I got from Zeleny. Chapuis follows Manurhin in claiming that MR73 barrels, frames, and cylinders are “machined from specially formulated, ordnance-certified alloyed steel stock procured from Aubert & Duval, an internationally-recognised specialist manufacturer of special steels.” ANY OTHER GLOCK 48 FANS? I have owned Glocks before (G17x3, G19, G26 and G34x2) over the years But, I've been Glockless for a few years And, for the last decade or so, I have been a HUGE DA/SA guy. Sure, I've owned several striker fired guns over 25+ years - but they really have not been my thing for the past 12-14 years or so. Anyway, the Glock 48 caught my attention afew months back.
