The Peak District is one of the UK's most visited national parks spanning around 555 square miles. The most common activities include walking in the Peak District, the wide ranges of places to visit, climbing, caving, and camping. WALKS AROUND THE PEAK DISTRICT The Peak District’s location in the center of the UK, as well as its outstanding natural scenery, has made it one of the UK’s most popular places for walking. The Peak Districts rivers are some of the cleanest rivers in the whole of the country, and can be found all across the National Park. PEAK DISTRICT GREEN LANES In order to do this the park authority has set up what is known as “Green Lanes”. Green Lanes are historic tracks which have been used in the past by a range of different users and are currently available for use by walkers, horse riders, cyclists and motor vehicles. There are currently around 300 green lanes within the PeakDistrict itself
RIVENDALE CARAVAN AND LEISURE PARK The Rivendale Caravan and Leisure Park is located close to the town of Buxton and is only 100 meters from the Tissington Trail.. The Tissington Trail is popular among cyclists and is one of the Peak District Park authority’s traffic-free routes which can be used by just cyclists, walkers and horse riders.. Eric Byne Campsite. The Eric Byne memorial campsite is located at Aldern House which is close to the village of Baslow. The village falls within the boundaries of the Peak District as well as the county of Derbyshire. HOPE VALLEY. The Peak District takes up a significant part of the Derbyshire County. The Peak District offers an excellent view of the Pennines, in the form of the rough Dark Peak and the smoothened White Peak.The area lies on the outskirts of the main urban cities and is generally inhabited by villages or smaller settlements, Hope Villageis one of them.
