JOINT STATEMENT ON AUSTRALIA POST We acknowledge that the Australia Post Board has today accepted the resignation of Christine Holgate as CEO and a director, effective immediately. As Shareholder Ministers, we thank Ms Holgate for her service over the past three years. Under Ms Holgate’s leadership, Australia Post has risen to the challenge of the enormous increase in parcel volumes that accompanied the COVID-19 crisis. CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY TO FIX ONE OF WA’S MOST DANGEROUS Major works to improve safety and bust congestion at one of Perth’s most dangerous intersections – the Leach Highway and Welshpool Road interchange – are now underway. Construction will be completed by the Leach Welshpool Alliance, a consortium made up of local contractors Georgiou Group Pty Ltd, BG&E Pty Ltd and Golder AssociatesPty Ltd.
TERMINAL CONTRACT AWARDED FOR WESTERN SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL The contract for the construction of the terminal at Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport has been awarded to Multiplex Construction Pty Ltd. Multiplex is an established global construction company that has delivered over 1,000 projects across the world and has an outstanding track record of successfully delivering complex projects in Australia. ROE STREET TRANSFORMATION TO REVITALISE THE PERTH CBD Work is now underway to revitalise one of Perth's oldest streets, Roe Street in Northbridge, as part of the $1.5 billion Perth City Deal plan. The $22 million Roe Street Enhancement Project will transform Roe Street from a car-dominant corridor to a vibrant city destination, improving connectivity and transport options between Northbridge andthe CBD.
NEW RICHMOND BRIDGE AND BYPASS TO CUT TRAFFIC AND … A new Richmond bridge and bypass will now become a reality, cutting travel time and creating jobs, following an additional $250 million investment from the Morrison and Berejiklian governments. The new two lane bridge across the Hawkesbury River will also include a bypass of Richmond and North Richmond, creating an estimated 850 direct andindirect jobs.
