CHINIDERE MOUNTAIN LOOP HIKE Description . This trip around stately Wahtum Lake is the classic mountain hike, featuring wildflowers, lake vistas, spectacular mountain views and even a rushing stream, all packed into an easy loop hike within the boundaries of the Mark O. Hatfield Wilderness. The view of Mount Hood from the rocky summit of Chinidere Mountain is among the finest in the Columbia Gorge high country. HUG POINT TO ARCH CAPE HIKE Hike Description . A varied shoreline landscape is accessed by this short hike: volcanic stacks and cliffs, mudstone headlands of the Astoria Formation, the daunting basalt headland at Arch Cape, shallow caves, and also the old low tide vehicle route carved around Hug Point itself. Note that there are several headlands to walk around. TOM DICK & HARRY JUNE 4, 2021 ↳ Field Guide Support "Arrived at the TH at 8:30 to quite a few cars already in the lot.
