Our commitment to sustainability and recycling inspires the decorative elements by exploring the reuse and repurposing of materials like broken ceramic, bottle caps, tiles, and sea shells.SMITHER PARK
Smither Park is a creative urban space that has developed with the help of artists and friends. Visionary artist and builder Dan Phillips worked alongside the late Stephanie Smither to design Smither Park in the memory of her late husband, John H. Smither.THE BEER CAN HOUSE
"John considered his work an enjoyable pastime rather than a work of art, but he did enjoy people's reaction to his creations." John Milkovisch, a retired upholsterer for the Southern Pacific Railroad, started his project now known as the Beer Can House in 1968 when he began inlaying thousands of marbles, rocks, and metal pieces into concrete and redwood to form unique landscaping features. Designed and constructed by Deb Elliott from 2011-2020. The Insatiable Trash Dragon seeks out all available trash, consumes it and incorporates it into his body! He lunges through and over the cinderblock to reach around and grab bottles off the adjacent goddesstree! Yum!
