HAPPY BIRTHDAY WITH THE CH24 WISHBONE CHAIR BY CARL HANSEN AND SONAPRIL 3, 2020

_Ad // Campaign For Carl Hansen and Son_ _As a proud manufacturer of furniture designed by Hans J. Wegner, CarlHansen & Son is
happy to continue a tradition of celebrating the late designer’s April 2, 1914 birthday with a limited-edition release of his iconic Wishbone Chair. For 2020, the Wishbone Chairtakes a darker
turn, as its elegant frame is reimagined in a glossy navy bluefinish._
_The CH24’s striking new color was carefully selected in close collaboration with the London-based designer and creative director, Ilse Crawford, and her multidisciplinary practice, Studioilse. The deep, moody shade of navy and the high-gloss finish were both inspired by Wegner’s long-standing fascination with the Asian design historyand craft._
> _“The blue refers to the color, which has been so much a part of > Chinese culture: from the blue and white china that obsessed the > world for so many centuries, to the dark blue of indigo textiles,” > says Crawford, “While the high gloss finish references the > traditional Chinese lacquer finish.”_ _Originally conceived in 1949 and produced from 1950, the WishboneChair was the
first of five chairs that Wegner designed for Carl Hansen & Son. Today, the chair is still made in Denmark, at Carl Hansen & Son’s factory on the island of Funen. Today, on Wegner’s birthday, and each year, Carl Hansen & Son celebrate with the world by unveiling a special version of the Wishbone Chairavailable only for
the rest of April. Elm ,ancient oak, walnut with a deep red seat in leather have been some of the previous birthday editions._ _When it comes to chairs I feel I can never have too many, it is just a matter of convenience. I usually rotate my chairs from free seating in the living room, to become office chairs, to dining chairs, to hallway chairs. It is one of the reason I dont mind having one chair of a set since I am perfectly happy having different ones in my dining table. I used the birthday Wishbone Chairin various
locations around my space to photograph it and show exactly what I mean by this. With its comfortable seat it can be a great office chair, in the living room it can stay conveniently out of the way or be the center of attention as an extra seat. Scroll down for more photos and details, and happy birthday Hans J Wegner !_ _Each limited-edition chair features a small brass plate engraved with Hans J. Wegner’s signature and date of birth, discretely placed inside the chair’s frame. Every chair is also accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. _ _Available for purchase from authorized Carl Hansen & Sondealers, as well
as from Carl Hansen & Son Flagship Stores from April 2nd, 2020 and throughout the month._ _Photography and Styling by Katerina Dima_ Find me on Instagram| Bloglovin

A HOT TUB FOR ALL SEASONS – WINTERMARCH 5, 2020
Filed Under: UncategorizedComment: 0

A while ago , when we first got our Hot tub ( or badestamp in Norwegian ) from Skargards, I took some
photos you can find at A Hot tub for all Seasons : Autumn , explaining how using the tub in beautiful Autumn is equally nice as any other season. I wanted to show that even in the most unconventional weather, you can use your Hot tub and enjoy it immensely , and I hope I succeeded. We really love using it and we honestly never think about the weather. Since we have had it we have gone in when it was warm, sunny, in the middle of the night, cold, raining, snowing, there has been no occasion that we did not want to use it after we fired it up. And after using it for so long now, even this process has become a sort of a ritual, something to look forward to. Usually the last two hours of the tub heating we will seat by the tub with our movable campsite fireplace (we call it bålpanne in Norway) even if it isn’t cold, enjoying the afternoon with coffeeor drinks.
Winter is the quintessential season for a Hot tub, and it didn’t take me long to realise why. There is this undeniable charm when everything is so cold around you, while you are submerged in hot water. We keep firing the tub consistently while in so we end up sitting on the rim to cool off while it is snowing in intervals. And there is no such feeling to describe when the cold hits you, your body compensates by warming up so much, it feels like all your cells are alive! And it is so idyllic.. if you are lucky and it is snowing in your area ( mostly addressing Scandinavians here) this is a great investment. All you need is the ability to fill it with water and you are good to go. We use water from the fjord so usually it has blue colour, and we have installed a small pump that helps us with that. The model we chose is the Regal Hot Tub from Skargards. It looks like a
traditional badestamp, the wood outside gives it a very authentic feel. The heating oven is cleverly hidden under what looks like a semi elevated seat ( and it works as a seating area as well), so there is space for more people. In fact we end up using this seat a lot, while when sitting normally in the build in circular bench, the water will roughly be around the shoulder area ( depending how much you choose to fill the tub), if you choose to sit in the semi elevated seat then the water will be around your mid section, making it very easy to cool off without having to seat on the rim of the tub (which we also do), or get out altogether (usually the person who wants to cool off will also bring extra drinks or put more wood in so it still works). The tub itself as I mentioned in my previous post about it, is very easy to maintain. Cleaning is minimal , and if you instead the actual cleaning system it comes with ( we ended up doing that), then you can use it quite a few times with the same water without having to worry. The water will remain clean along with the tub and due to the water heater that can be hooked on the cleaning system the water is always at a nice 45 degrees maximum. Specifications aside ( find in full at Skargardswebsite ), it
is very easy to heat the tub due to its design, a natural under pressure is created in the oven that causes the bath water to circulate by itself and with the inherent circulation a uniform water temperature is obtained throughout the hot tub. Fire the tub cleverly and within 2 to 3 hours maximum you can enjoy it to its fullest. The Hot tub comes ready to use, all you need is for a leveled surface. We created an elevated area for it since we really wanted to take advantage of the view and it also works great as a sitting area. As I mentioned the tub is not fixed to the floor, so when it is empty you can ( though you need at least 3 people since it is too heavy of course for one) to move it around and find the best place for it. Last but not least before I leave you to enjoy the photos, I need to say that we ended up adding quite a few accessories to it, some from the beginning, some later, but it is good to know the importance ofthem.
We started with adding immediately an underwater light, stairs and one shelf (that turned out to two). The light is very beautiful during the night and it does have a very convenient switch to turn on and off from inside the tub. If you dont need stairs due to placement feel free to skip them, however if the tub is freestanding like ours then you need something to be able to get in and out. Shelves are a no brainer, the more the better even if you think it makes the tub look weird , it’s great to be able to have as much space as possible to leave your stuff while in. You absolutely need an insulated lid, not only does it protect the tub, but also it reduces dramatically the time to heat it. We ended up also ordering after a few months a rain hat (you can see it in these photos while it is absent in the previous ones), I am not sure if it’s that important but it is very rainy in this area and I just didn’t feel ok without it. Something I highly regret not ordering in the beginning is the cleaning/heating system. We ended up really needing it due to temperature drops and if you order it from the start the tub will come with the holes and everything already ready for its installation, if not, you have to drill and install the whole thing or hire someone to do that for you. It is not hard to follow the instructions but it is something I definitely would have ordered to begin with if I knew what it entailed. You can find more accessoriesonline, however
these are the ones I think are absolutely needed, and the ones we found the most useful. We absolutely love our Hot tub and we use it no matter the weather or the season, I cannot recommend it enough! I hope you enjoy the photos, and do follow me on instagram for stories if you like to see it inuse!

CHRISTMAS JOY

A few days ago I posted about how I decided to start a new tradition and start collecting every year the Christmas collectibles series by Georg Jensen . Today I thought it would be most appropriate after introducing them to show you around my living room on a festive day like this, how I have decorated with them and other pieces from my beloved Georg Jensen. A very true vision as you have seen from my stories of how my place looks , but a little bit more put together for the purposes of this journal entry. You will find everything that appears in this postunder the Julepynt
page at Georg Jensen online store. Other than the Christmas collectibles you can see handing from my handmade wreath and as shown hanging on the windows, or just lying by the table. A huge tradition I have also embraced is the keeping of the advent calendar every sunday of december all the way till Christmas. I am using my Season Lysestaker from Georg Jensen ( I am sure you have spotted it in my stories so far), and as tradition goes I am left with the 4th and last candle tolight.
When it comes to evenings and traditions, hot coffee is a must for every Norwegian home the whole year , here is where the Helix coffeeline becomes
absolutely necessary. Especially when you have beloved relatives coming over! I have had the most compliments for the coffee pot! It seems weird to say this, but at this point I am actually looking forward to next Christmas, I have now started traditions that will last me a lifetime and I cannot wait for the journey to continue. But first, happy holidays everyone and enjoy your Christmas! _Photography and Editing by Katerina Dima_ Find me on Instagram| Bloglovin

CHRISTMAS WITH GEORG JENSEN COLLECTIBLESDECEMBER 16, 2019

This year I started my collection of Georg Jensen’s Christmas Collectibles, a
limited edition series of festive decorations created by a different designer every year for Georg Jensen. For more than 100 years Georg Jensen has pioneered the field of Scandinavian design by constantly delivering products and experiences that elevate the everyday. This season the collectibles are based on the classic Christmas symbols of love, togetherness and tradition: hearts, stars and trees all plated in gold and palladium. “Jul” is the Scandinavian word for Christmas, and up here it is one of the most popular words in the vocabulary. Because in Scandinavia “jul” is not just a single evening of gift exchanges, it is a whole season of having a good time. It is that part of the year when you go out of your way to make others feel happy and loved. The 2019 Christmas Collectible collectionis
designed by longtime Georg jensen collaborator Sanne Lund Traberg using the graphic lines and shapes often seen in both cubist and art deco pieces. Her work is both contemporary and timeless. > Christmas is a time for showing love to your family and friends so > what better symbol to use on a tree decoration than a heart? This > gold-plated Christmas ornament features a beautifully crafted heart > suspended inside a delicate frame which features graphic patterns > inspired by Cubism and Art Deco, the designer says. I have been in Norway for a couple of years now and every year there has been an excuse to not decorate for Christmas. Moving houses, spending christmas abroad, and other reasons. This year I made a promise to myself to not only celebrate Christmas, but to start with a new tradition as well. Being very much on the minimal side I do not want to overwhelm my house with baubles and decorations, but with ornaments that will mean something to me for years to come as well. Adding my Georg Jensen collectibles collection every year seems like the best way to also look forwards to the next festive season as well! Win win! _// Photography and Editing by Katerina Dima_ Find me on Instagram| Bloglovin

* Modern Scandinavian/Nordic style is very distinctive and renowned in the design world. Last few years it has gathered a lot of support from the design community and I am extremely happy to see it grow. My style is very influenced by Nordic design although I still retain strong bonds to contemporary american, industrial and minimalism. It is no wonder Modern Scandinavian design has captured so much of my attention as it is born from the basic principles of modernism fused with traditional materials and can have the look of contemporaryinterior design.

Abate
Amidst the summer days we are having in Oslo, there are some local news that should help take some of the heat off..literally! Abate is relatively a new brand on the scene , but the quality is what for me sets them apart. With a 400 thread count, made of Egyptian hand picked cotton, you are guaranteed a good nightssleep.
And this is how it all started, Kristian and Leo, two friends who discovered how difficult it was to find good bedding for a good price. They mean high quality, high comfort and good design should not cost a fortune and they have done exactly so. Do read on their quality, it is quite
impressive!Their weaving and stitching is carried out in a family-run factory, almost one hundred years back, in the Guimarães district of northern Portugal. They manufacture consciously at this factory specifically to ensure the quality of production, the conditions of textile workers and the environment. In their words : > The strength of the threads and durability of the fabric allows you > to get a product that lasts and lasts quality over time. Then you do > not have to swap as often. We wish that it will give both you and > the environment long-term value. I already have a pair of sheets in white but now Abate has launched 2 different shades of grey to choose from, with the latest addition a dark grey. And how is this related with the summer days? Take my word for it, you wont sweat it, pun intended ;) _// Photos Via Abate , Styling : Cathrine Bækken for HEEM , Photography : Dag Randen_
