O HUMAN STAR
Aug 27. by Blue on August 27, 2020 at 10:00 am. Chapter: Chapter Eight. This’ll be the landing page for O Human Star for the foreseeable future – at least through the production of Volume 3, which is funding on Kickstarter through Saturday, August 29 2020. It’s truly surreal to think about OHS ending after making it a partof my life
CAST – O HUMAN STAR O Human Star centers around the lives of three people and the impact they’ve had on their world and on each other.. Alastair Sterling. December 12, 1961 – April 15, 2005, February 2, 2021 – Al is the inventor who started it all. While he was alive, Al hid behind a tough and imposing exterior – and after death he became a near-mythical figure among humans and robots alike. EXTRAS – O HUMAN STAR ErinPtah . During Chapters 1-3, I would alter the site’s color scheme to reflect the palette of the most recently updated page. Since I’m not doing that so much anymore, here is a FAQ – O HUMAN STAR My comics have appeared in various anthologies, like Smut Peddler, The Sleep of Reason, and Beyond. I have also collaborated on nonfiction comics and my work has appeared on Medium.com. O Human Star is a personal project that I started for fun, and most of the income I derive from posting updates is through my ongoing Patreon campaign.CHAPTER 8, PAGE 13

Some interesting/poignant tension developing between two things – 1. how easy it is for a synthetic person to alter their appearance (and thus bring their body into alignment with what feels right for them, whether for the sake of gender or anything else), and 2. the fact that gender confirmation surgery is an option for treating dysphoriaCHAPTER 2, PAGE 43
Ahh, I love Brendan’s expression in panel 4. That gesture with his glasses is one of the first times I felt like his younger self evoked his older self, and it made me realise one of the things I like most about these two – that in terms of relationships, for all the age gap, Brendan is more grown-up than Al is.CHAPTER 1, PAGE 19
This page is so powerful. This is my second read though and what happened before he died hasn’t been reveled but considering the outcome of “are you just going to stand there” turned out in a flashback I’m expecting this is foreshadowing the nature of the last time they saw each other.CHAPTER 8, PAGE 19
Given the other technologies in this setting, I’d expect them to have access to clothes-printers and fashion expert systems. But maybeit’s more

read from start to this for the first time today and man.. this is good stuff! though I had a bit of a hard time to get used to Sulla’s not-so-girly face but she is, like everyone else in this comic so far, a brilliant and loveable character^^CHAPTER 8, PAGE 30

Brendan has HUGE self-confidence. He strikes me as a prodigy, protected by his family and admired at school, who learned early to make his own rules. When he has stage fright or designer’s block, it is completely honest and forthright. No one was allowed to crush him when he was a child because of his enormous talent.CHAPTER 8, PAGE 12
It was beautiful, I understood what was going on from the very beginning this time, seen the suffering and the pain and behaviors that I hated so so much in Al. Because I seen oh, oh so much of Al in myself. Dysphoria. Now I have a word for it and I want to say.CHAPTER 2, PAGE 43
This pageis just sheer pricelessness, laughter and tears all at once. Brendan the first two panels, hilarious. The Al’s O-o hilarious too. But sad. And Al, after that, get over yourself and marry the kid, like, right now.

O Human Star introduced me to a world I didn’t know about, made me feel heartbreak and sometimes even drome me to the point of crying. Its been a constant in my life, sometimes even being one of the only “constant” thing in it. I apologize for the rambling, butCHAPTER 8, PAGE 29

read from start to this for the first time today and man.. this is good stuff! though I had a bit of a hard time to get used to Sulla’s not-so-girly face but she is, like everyone else in this comic so far, a brilliant and loveable character^^CHAPTER 8, PAGE 30
Some interesting/poignant tension developing between two things – 1. how easy it is for a synthetic person to alter their appearance (and thus bring their body into alignment with what feels right for them, whether for the sake of gender or anything else), and 2. the fact that gender confirmation surgery is an option for treating dysphoriaCHAPTER 4, PAGE 24
Brendan has HUGE self-confidence. He strikes me as a prodigy, protected by his family and admired at school, who learned early to make his own rules. When he has stage fright or designer’s block, it is completely honest and forthright. No one was allowed to crush him when he was a child because of his enormous talent.CHAPTER 2, PAGE 43
This pageis just sheer pricelessness, laughter and tears all at once. Brendan the first two panels, hilarious. The Al’s O-o hilarious too. But sad. And Al, after that, get over yourself and marry the kid, like, right now.
CHAPTER 8, PAGE 12
It was beautiful, I understood what was going on from the very beginning this time, seen the suffering and the pain and behaviors that I hated so so much in Al. Because I seen oh, oh so much of Al in myself. Dysphoria. Now I have a word for it and I want to say.CHAPTER 4, PAGE 35

Some interesting/poignant tension developing between two things – 1. how easy it is for a synthetic person to alter their appearance (and thus bring their body into alignment with what feels right for them, whether for the sake of gender or anything else), and 2. the fact that gender confirmation surgery is an option for treating dysphoriaCHAPTER 1, PAGE 19

Just get that new body on, and you’re ready to go! There’s this really interesting trans/disability intersection going on between Lucille, who celebrates and modifies her body so freely and refuses to be made to feel like a freak for being born different, and Al, who has always felt trapped in an unchangeable body.CHAPTER 4, PAGE 24
Brendan has HUGE self-confidence. He strikes me as a prodigy, protected by his family and admired at school, who learned early to make his own rules. When he has stage fright or designer’s block, it is completely honest and forthright. No one was allowed to crush him when he was a child because of his enormous talent.CHAPTER 8, PAGE 29
That mug warms my heart! If that’s a sign that a young Sulla acknowledged Brendan as Dad, it makes me so happy! (I know their father-daughter dynamic has obviously existed throughout Sulla’s upbringing, but I wasn’t sure if they actually spoke about that to each other before Sulla was trying to pass as human to her newfriends.)
CHAPTER 6, PAGE 37
On the other hand, this video might be either cause or effect of mini-Sulla getting interested in the idea of being able to fly. It might be ‘The Flight of Dragons, actually. In the movie, Magic and Science try to coexist. Kind of makes sense for Sulla here and herability to fly.
CHAPTER 8, PAGE 9
Having the tragically boring upbringing of a white person in the midwest, I have no idea what that looks like. To YouTube I go. I think Al has a lot of anxiety about robotransition. Al might want to look different, but wanting to have transitioned and wanting to transition aren’t quite the same thing.CHAPTER 7, PAGE 55

Reading this on a Unix box, I didn’t get the point until I read the comments – to me, Ctrl-C terminates, Alt-W copies. In a print edition, maybe you should write a footnote that in many computers in 2012, this was the method for making a copy of selected items usingthe keyboard.
