NPL OFFERS WORLD-CLASS EXPERTISE TO SUPPORT UK INDUSTRY IN TACKLINGCOVID-19
* Find out more
CREATING IMPACT FROM SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING Our world-leading measurement solutions are critical to business and government, accelerating research and innovation, improving quality of life and enabling trade. We ensure our cutting-edge measurement science has a positive impact in the real world. CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 During this period of unprecedented challenge for the UK, the safety of our staff and customers is paramount. We have therefore had to introduce a series of wide-ranging changes to our operational activities that will unavoidably impact the availability of our services to customers. Our laboratory activities that are directly supporting the UK’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic will remain operational, if at all possible. However, with the exception of those services that will stay open to support non virus-related customer activities that are clearly in the national interest, all other NPL laboratory-based services have now been suspended until further notice. Our efforts to complete, or return, customer jobs that are currently at NPL are progressing well and our Customer Services Team will be in touch with you to arrange collection of such items as soon as possible. For the services that are now off-line, we will be unable to provide confirmed start dates for scheduled or new work until the current national crisis is over. As a national laboratory, NPL is standing by to help organisations who are already supporting or intend to support the UK’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak through the manufacture of essential medical equipment, or other technologies needed to combat the pandemic. If your organisation could benefit from working with NPL to meet those challenges, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss yourneeds.
We will continue to provide you with updates on the status of our services and the work we are doing. Please contact us with any specific concerns or requests for information you may have. Read more about our COVID-19 activities or contact us NATIONAL TIMING CENTRE PROGRAMME Led by NPL, the UK’s first nationally distributed time infrastructure will improve security and resilience, communication, and implementation of new technologies, and pave the way for trusted time and frequency across the country.
