WEDDINGS | NIAGARA PENINSULA CONSERVATION AUTHORITY The chapel was re-opened October 1974, and has been used for weddings and other events at Ball’s Falls Conservation Area ever since. The Ball’s Falls Historical Chapel is the perfect setting for religious and nondenominational wedding ceremonies. This venue is rented in 2 hour allotments. 9:30-11:30, 12-2:00, 2:30-4:30 or 5-7:00.

GORD HARRY TRAIL

This 13 km trail has barrier-free access with gated entries at each road crossing. The Gord Harry Trail connects directly to Wainfleet Wetlands Conservation Area, and passes near Long Beach, Morgan’s Point and Wainfleet Bog Conservation Areas. Parking is available at the Station Road and Quarry Road entrances in Port Colborne. LOUTH | NIAGARA PENINSULA CONSERVATION AUTHORITY Louth Conservation Area is located along Sixteen Mile Creek in Lincoln County. This 36-hectare parcel of land was purchased by NPCA in 1973, and conserves a portion of the Niagara Escarpment, providing access to

the Bruce Trail.

COMFORT MAPLE

The Comfort Maple Conservation Area conserves what is widely believed to be the oldest and finest sugar maple tree in Canada, which was designated a heritage tree in June 2000 under the Ontario Heritage Act. In 1975, the Ontario Forestry Association estimated the tree to be 400-500 years old. Located in the Town of Pelham, the Comfort Maple

The Wainfleet Bog Conservation Area is located within the Niagara Peninsula of Southern Ontario, (in the Township of Wainfleet and City of Port Colborne) and is part of the only bog wetland in the Niagara Peninsula. It is provincially, regionally and locally significant and the largest remaining bog within southern Ontario, providing habitat

JORDAN HARBOUR

Niagara Rowing School is now open for watercraft rentals. Jordan Harbour is a wonderful place to enjoy a leisurely 2-hour canoe, kayak or SUP paddle along the picturesque shoreline, around the reed islands, feel and hear the roar of VIA and cargo trains from under the main-line train bridge, snapping pictures of the swan, geese and duck families, and the shore logs covered in sunbathing turtles.

BEAMER MEMORIAL

Renowned as the best vantage point in the Niagara Peninsula to observe the annual spring hawk migration, and part of the internationally designated Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserve, Beamer Memorial Conservation Area offers one of Niagara’s most breath-taking and panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario.

STEVENSVILLE

The Stevensville Conservation Area is a passive recreational area located in the Town of Fort Erie. Visitors can experience a forest, meandering Black Creek, wetlands, a fishing pond and an open picnic area. _WE NEED YOU._CHANGES TO CONSERVATION AUTHORITIES- BILL 229 The Province of Ontario has announced a number of changes to the Conservation Authorities Act and the Planning Act that significantly limit or completely change the role of conservation authorities to protect Ontario’s environment and ensure people and property are safe from natural hazards. The changes risk watering down or limiting the conservation authorities’ ability to ensure a watershed-based approach to development and to overall protection of Ontario’s environment.
