NOREF - SVEIN ERIK STAVE Svein Erik Stave is a researcher with the Fafo Institute for Applied International Studies in Oslo. He is the author of Monitoring Peace Consolidation: United Nations Practitioners’ Guide to Benchmarking (United Nations 2010), and is involved in a number of ongoing international initiatives to develop methodologies and indicators related to measuring the effects of peacebuilding. NOREF - ALEXANDER LEIRFALL Alexander Leirfall is Head of the Middle East and North Africa Programme at NOREF. Prior to joining NOREF, he worked as a Senior Adviser on Security Policy and NATO Affairs in the International Department of the Norwegian Parliament. NOREF - DESIGNING PEACE: THE COLOMBIAN PEACE PROCESS The peace talks between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army (FARC-EP) have become a global reference for negotiated solutions to armed conflicts.The talks demonstrated how a well-prepared and robust process design can contribute significantly to the outcome of a negotiated settlement.
