In December 2020, the Board of Trustees of the New Orleans Museum of Art elected a slate of new members who will join the board in January 2021. The Board of Trustees works together to support NOMA’s mission of uniting, inspiring, and engaging diverse SYDNEY AND WALDA BESTHOFF SCULPTURE GARDEN Object Lesson: Pablo Casals’s Obelisk, 1983 Arman (1925–2005) Bronze. Pablo Casals’s Obelisk, a towering accumulation of welded bronze cellos, dominates the waters of a lagoon in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden.Standing over twenty feet tall, the Obelisk, built in homage to the world-renowned Spanish-Puerto Rican cellist and human rights activist Pablo Casals, is an PROSPECT.4: THE LOTUS IN SPITE OF THE SWAMP The international triennial Prospect.4 (P.4) is a citywide exhibition at venues across metro New Orleans. P.4 takes the city’s distinctive character as a point of departure to investigate global concerns. Works by seven artists are on view at NOMA. YOGA IN THE SCULPTURE GARDEN NOMA has resumed yoga classes in the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. Participants must bring their own yoga mats, and enrollment is limited to 40 people. Advance registration is requested.
