The number of persons with disabilities around the world is estimated to be approximately 1 billion,*1 and the ELIMINATION OF LEPROSY The Nippon Foundation has been instrumental in this success, to the point that in 2001 WHO asked Yohei Sasakawa, our chairman, to be its Goodwill Ambassador for Leprosy Elimination. Leprosy is one of the oldest diseases known to humankind. Once dreaded as contagious, disfiguring and without cure, today it is easily treated withantibiotics.
ADDRESSING CHILD POVERTY The survey shows that despite recent improvement, the child poverty rate stood at 13.9% in 2015, compared with 10.9% in 1985. The child poverty rate shows the percentage of children under the age of 18 who live in relative poverty. 【個人メールアドレスの流出に関するご報告とお詫び】ニュース
日本財団が管理運営者である「国立ハンセン病資料館」で2020年3月8日(日)に開催を予定していたトークイベント「石井正則写真展トークイベント『ハンセン病療養所の写真と音楽』」につきましては、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大を防止するため中止することとなり、 参加申し込みくださった皆さま宛にご案内しました。 本来ならばBCCで送信するべきところ操作をあやまり、TOで本日131名に送信し、 参加申し込みされた皆さまのメールアドレスが共有される事態となってしまいました。 ここにご報告し、深くお詫び申し上げます。 今後はこのような過ちを再び犯さないよう、個人情報の管理と運用を徹底し、再発防止に努めます。 皆さまのメールアドレスを流出させ、ご迷惑とご心配をおかけしましたことを重ねてお詫び申し上げます。2020年2月28日

日本財団「18歳意識調査」第22回 テーマ:食品ロスについてニュース

日本財団は、「18歳」の若者を対象にしたインターネットアンケート調査を継続的に行っています。 2015年の改正公職選挙法で選挙権年齢が20歳から18歳に引き下げられ、翌年の参院選から新たに「18~19歳」が投票に参加しました。民法の改正に伴い2022年4月には成人年齢も18歳に変わります。 そこで日本財団では、18歳の若者が何を考え、何を思っているのか、継続して調べる意識調査を行っています。次代を担う18歳が政治や社会、仕事、家族、友人、恋愛などをどのように考え、意識しているか、幅広く知ることで新しい社会づくりに役立てるのが狙いで、多くの社会課題に取り組む日本財団の事業にも調査結果を反映させたいと考えています。18歳意識調査
