After attending the Academy of Fine Arts, School of Photography (Istanbul), he transferred to Bennington College, Vermont. He lived in Paris and returned to New York to pursue studiesin music history.

NAOMI ANDRÉ: ENGAGING BLACK EXPERIENCE IN OPERA In the introduction to her new book, Black Opera: History, Power, Engagement, scholar Naomi André recalls a stressful experience with a colleague from South Africa.
