Many are still working to rebuild their lives from storms and other natural disasters that occurred years ago. From sharing personal narratives to explaining effective advocacy practices, these individuals are the true experts on homelessness and they always deliver memorable lessons. Unemployment, underemployment, and low wages relative to rent are frequent causes of homelessness and burden millions of families with the risk of becoming homeless. NATIONAL COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS TEACHING RESOURCES As the saying goes, children are our future. The best way to change negative stereotypes about people experiencing homelessness and ultimately end homelessness is to teach young people how to be compassionate advocates.
