From sharing personal narratives to explaining effective advocacy practices, these individuals are the true experts on homelessness and they always deliver memorable lessons. NCH is also responsible for two national NATIONAL COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS LIVED EXPERIENCE NCH focuses our policies and programs around lifting up the voices of people who have been homeless, or are currently experiencing homelessness. We understand these to be the true experts on the issues and solutions surrounding the decades long political failure of homelessness. NCH works hand-in-hand with grassroots organizers and organizations, trains and employs advocates EMPLOYMENT AND INCOME Meaningful and sustainable employment is the key to creating and maintaining housing stability. Unemployment, underemployment, and low wages relative to rent are frequent causes of homelessness and burden millions of families with the risk of becoming homeless. NATIONAL COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS TEACHING RESOURCES As the saying goes, children are our future. The best way to change negative stereotypes about people experiencing homelessness and ultimately end homelessness is to teach young people how to be compassionate advocates. The Faces of Homelessness Speakers’ Bureau gives presentations to thousands of students each year.
