I’m finally going to show you how I’ve been updating wood trim in my bedroom. Prepare yourself, these are not pretty pictures! It is amazing how much different a room can look with updated trim/baseboard/window frames, etc. A room will look brighter, cleaner and fresher with just this simple little change! WHISKEY BARREL LID MAKEOVER Originally priced at $20 this whiskey barrel lid was a steal at $4. It needed some TLC, repairs and sealing. Now it makes a real statement piece for a home bar or the bourbon lover. The brand is Stitzel Weller, poured right here in Louisville, KY back in 1961. This was a very simple 2×4 build, and now I have two wooden sawhorses to aid me in my DIY. The reason I chose to make this type of easy sawhorses is so that they will stack. HOW TO PAINT MINI BLINDS In this picture you get a better idea of the original color. The top portion is the primer, the bottom is the original color. A closer look. I sprayed the primer on both sides, in a back and forth motion. I covered the strings, and top and bottom. It took 2 cans of primer for this one small blind. HOW TO BUILD A SHED RAMP {POTHOLES AND PANTYHOSE} Screw the platform of the ramp to the 2 x 4’s (or 2 x 6’s) using exterior wood screws. Using a T Square, measure the angle that you will need to remove from both ends of the ramp so that it will sit at an angle. WOODEN ROCKING CHAIR MAKEOVER For this broken wooden rocking chair, I had to remove the screws someone had used to hold the chair seat together. repair wooden rocking chair with wood glue. I added Gorilla Wood Glue under the chair spindles and all along the side edge of the wooden rocking chair. WOODEN ROCKING CHAIR MAKEOVER For this broken wooden rocking chair, I had to remove the screws someone had used to hold the chair seat together. repair wooden rocking chair with wood glue. I added Gorilla Wood Glue under the chair spindles and all along the side edge of the wooden rocking chair. I call it the Entry Way Half Table. You can see the glaze made the white base coat rather dark. I’m finally going to show you how I’ve been updating wood trim in my bedroom. Prepare yourself, these are not pretty pictures! It is amazing how much different a room can look with updated trim/baseboard/window frames, etc. A room will look brighter, cleaner and fresher with just this simple little change! Here is the dreaded RECLAIMED FENCE PROJECTS Reclaimed Fence Projects. One day a tree fell on my house and fence. I salvaged the old fence and it started a love of perfectly weathered gray wood for all kinds of reclaimed fence projects. It’s not as great as barn wood, but it’s easier and cheaper to come by. I sprayed the primer on both sides, in a back and forth motion. I covered the strings, and top and bottom. It took 2 cans of primer for this one small blind. HOW TO BUILD A SHED RAMP {POTHOLES AND PANTYHOSE} Screw the platform of the ramp to the 2 x 4’s (or 2 x 6’s) using exterior wood screws. Using a T Square, measure the angle that you will need to remove from both ends of the ramp so that it will sit at an angle. Use a level to draw a straight line across the 2 BACKYARD CAMPER RETREAT Over the winter months, this birdbath had fallen over in the side yard. It had definitely seen better days but I thought it would be perfect for my new backyard camper retreat. Wow! The Ryobi 2300 PSI Pressure Washer helped knock off all the dirt AND the loose paint! WHISKEY BARREL LID MAKEOVER Originally priced at $20 this whiskey barrel lid was a steal at $4. It needed some TLC, repairs and sealing. Now it makes a real statement piece for a home bar or the bourbon lover. The brand is Stitzel Weller, poured right here in Louisville, KY back in 1961. HOW TO MAKE AN EASY SHADOW BOX OUT OF A PICTURE FRAME Clamp the sides of the shadow box until the glue sets up. I clamped and braced the boards until the wood glue had time to set up on the easy shadow box. The thin plywood looks so much nicer in the little lip of the frame than a thicker piece of wood does such as a 1×4 or1×6.

This was a very simple 2×4 build, and now I have two wooden sawhorses to aid me in my DIY. The reason I chose to make this type of easy sawhorses is so that they will stack. A new Tractor Supply opened right by Vendors’ Village and I’m going to love shopping there. My first purchase was this chain. I also added d rings on the back of the window. I decided to put a small ledge on the back of the pallet potting table. In this image you see me using the long screws, but they went through the skid board so I switched them out for the 1 5/8” screws.
