HOW TO FEED THE FISH WHILE YOU'RE AWAY Option 2: The most expensive option is to buy a mechanical feeder, and set it on the frequency that you want. This will make sure your fish is being fed on time. Option 3: Last is the block feeders. With feeding blocks, you put them in the water , and they slowly release food into the water for your fish. USING A TREE BRANCH FOR AQUARIUM? answer. #2. Fish master. 4 years ago. No, you shouldn't, but if you find beach drift wood or big wood in you lake, you can use it after scrubbing it, boiling it, and letting it sit in a container by itself for 2-3 days. reply. #3. FishnCats. 4 years ago.MINI CYCLE?
When you changed the substrate you also removed about one half of the nitrifying bacteria associated with the nitrogen cycle. Most of the other half lives in the filter elements, a few are on other aquarium surfaces, and fewer still are in the water column. If you did not replace any of the filter elements, the nitrogen cycle is alreadyseeded.

Looks like Cyanobacteria, also called green or blue slime disease. It's not really algae but is a bacteria. Not easy to get rid of, sadly. I would remove the rocks and scrub it off them with a stiff brush, vacuum as much as you can and then treat the tank with 3% hydrogen peroxide at a rate of 3ml per gallon. TANK WON’T CYCLE FOR AFTER 3 MONTHS! Bad recommendation. For the health of your fish you need to go bigger water changes and get that ammonia down to 0ppm. There will be ammonia to grow the cycle just not enough to injure your fish. Once you get ammonia to zero, test regularly and see how long it takes to show up again. This will make sure your fish is being fed on time. Option 3: Last is the block feeders. With feeding blocks, you put them in the water , and they slowly release food into the water for your fish. My suggestion is to put the filter smack bang in the middle. A tall plant or wood will in time hide most of the workings.AND a small power filter low down out of sight that can beused to

ZERO NITRATES IN A FULLY CYCLED TANK Lithia: @Vale Some types of fish are sensitive to higher nitrates, and some fish won’t successfully spawn in water with high nitrates. If you can cultivate the anaerobic bacteria that eats nitrates, you’ve got water that is the cleanest and least problematic of all water. I HAVE A BOTTLE OF 3% HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. DIPPING PLANTS Make a 3% H2O2 solution by mixing 2-3ml of the peroxide per gallon of water. I would advise not to dip the moss ball since its pretty much bunched up algae. The H2O2 would kill it. But after mixing the solution, dip only the leaves of the plants in it. Do not let the roots touch the solution, or it will kill the plant. #4. steph925. 5years ago.
ADDING BAKING SODA TO YOUR FISH TANK TO HELP WITH PH Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to 1 cup of tank water and stir until dissolveddo this in a container outside the tank for good general practice. Once completely dissolved dump it in the tank. Wait about 30 minutes and test for pH and KH. The goal is to get the tank to about 4 to 6 dKH which will increase pH, but sometimes pH is hard to predict. MY GUPPY HAS A SWOLLEN BELLY. I INCLUDED A PICTURE, ANY It's some kind of bloat. Coax the guppy into eating a small piece of cooked pea; it's a laxative that will often clear a bloat. If other fish in the aquarium are bloated, it could be more serious. To start, make sure the water parameters are appropriate and ammonia and nitrite are zero while nitrate is below 40 ppm. FISH DYING OFF, ONE BY ONE, NO SIGNS OF ILLNESS. One fish will hide by the heater for a few days and then die. Then, a few days later, another fish will go up and do the same thing.
