ISLAMIC COINS
The present coin is a very rare survivor from this first year in which a ‘purely Islamic’ coinage was struck. Of striking and beautiful simplicity, and obviously and uncompromisingly Islamic, it was to become the basis of a stable gold coinage whose weight and fineness was carefully maintained in accordance with Qur’anic precepts. THE BEGINNING OF THE PAPER INDUSTRY The technology of papermaking which first flourished in Iraq, Syria and Palestine, spread to the West. The first paper mill in Africa was built in Egypt around 850. A paper mill was built in Morocco from where it reached Spain in 950. The centre of fabrication there wasXatiba.

WHAT ISLAM DID FOR US What Islam Did For Us is a well written, fascinating book replete with facts and figures.
