Located on 111-117 Lancaster Road, 2 minutes from Portobello Road, we show 150 years of brands, packaging and advertising though the permanent exhibition the ‘Time Tunnel’ created by consumer historian Robert Opie. The Museum presents temporary exhibitions, talks, webinars and workshops, to create debate, ideas and examine the role of brands in history and the modern world. We receive no regular public subsidy and would like to thank our funders, members, sponsors, affiliates and visitors for helping us succeed. Our conference space is designed to spark creativity and is available throughout the week for strategy meetings, creative sessions, away days, conferences and team building workshops.Located on a private floor the venue features floor-to-ceiling windows, quirky grass flooring, access to a balcony, high speed WiFi and its own cateringand breakout space.
NEW ADVERTISING EXHIBITION The exhibition presents a variety of advertising campaigns that take a stand for causes such as diversity, inclusion, environmentalism, health, wellbeing and human rights, including those that have been well-received and those that have drawn widespread criticism. The role of the Board is to oversee the Museum’s policy, review performance and guide strategic plans. NEW ADVERTISING EXHIBITION Our temporary exhibition When Brands Take a Stand presents TV commercials, posters and packaging that showcase how brands interact with social causes and contemporary issues. Brands and advertising have the power to influence society. They affect the way we see ourselves and how we engage with others and the world we live in. BISTO - MUSEUM OF BRANDS Bisto was created by two workers of the Cerebos salt works, Mr. Roberts and Mr. Patterson, who were persuaded by their wives to create a product that would guarantee perfect gravy. MARMITE - MUSEUM OF BRANDS In 1912, biochemists Hopkins and Funk proposed the theory that certain diseases might be caused by a dietary deficiency of certain vitamins. Marmite was found to be a plentiful source of B vitamins, and henceforth became a popular staple in schools and hospitals. TALK: CREATE THE PERFECT BRAND Review. On June 24 th, Paul Hitchens, Brand Consultant, TEDx Speaker and Author visited the Museum of Brands to deliver an innovative evening workshop on how to ‘Create the Perfect Brand’.. Hitchens began the night by noting that “we’ve been branding since the dawn of time”, and the past, present and future of any brand are key toits development.
