BIKE REVIEW: MERIDA BIG.TRAIL 500 BIKE REVIEW: Merida BIG.TRAIL 500. When it was first released in 2016, the Big Trail aimed to bring some fun to the world of hardtails. It came about when plus-size tyres were all the rage and was equipped with 2.8-inch wide tyres. The bike also had a 130mm travel fork, short stem, 760mm wide bars and the geometry was pretty progressive for a TRAINING FOR ENDURANCE MTB EVENTS Friday - Day off. Saturday and/or Sunday - Longer endurance rides. Start off with a couple of hours on the MTB and increase the duration by 10 minutes or so each week. Add load gradually allowing the body time to adapt. Hiring a coach can be a great way of fast tracking yourtraining.

Interestingly clip-in pedals are also known as clipless pedals. ISOLATION BIKING: FLAT PEDALS VS CLIPS Actually, F=µN is the formula for calculating friction between any two surfaces. In the case of mountain biking we’re particularly concerned with the friction between our tyres and the trail. The part of the friction equation which we can alter once riding is the ‘N’ part; the amount of force ‘normal’ (i.e. perpendicular) to the ISOLATION BIKING: SUSPENSION FORK SERVICE Pop the oil soaked foam rings down into the fork and tuck them between the top bushing and the wiper seal. Then smear a layer of suspension grease on the inside of the wiper seal. Spray some alcohol on a rag and thoroughly clean the stanchions. Pull the threaded rods out as far as they will go and gently slip the lowers on. HOW TO CONVERT TO A 1X DRIVETRAIN Shortening the chain can add a little extra tension when you’re in the smaller cogs on the rear cassette. Without going through the derailleur, wrap the chain around the two biggest cogs and pull the ends together.
