SLOAN KETTERING
Prostate cancer treatment stands on the brink of a major advance with the development of a new treatment that zeros in on cancer cells to destroy them. The therapy, called 177 Lu-PSMA-617, uses a molecule that selectively seeks out and attaches to a specific protein on the cancer cell surface. The technology then delivers radiation that damages DNA and destroys the cancer cell. UNDERSTANDING YOUR FIBROSCAN® RESULTS Your healthcare provider will talk with you about your results during your appointment. If you have questions, call your doctor’s office. You can reach them Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at 212-639-7336.. The rest of this resource explains your FibroScan results in more detail, including how your healthcare provider uses your results to determine your steatosis grade and DIET GUIDELINES FOR PEOPLE WITH A COLOSTOMY Follow the guidelines below for the first few weeks after your surgery. This will help prevent discomfort while your colon heals. Eat small, frequent meals. Try to have 6 small meals throughout the day instead of 3 large ones. MAGNOLIA OFFICINALIS Magnolia bark extract has shown anti-inflammatory and anticancer effects in laboratory and animal studies. Magnolia officinalis is an herb commonly used in traditional medicine. The bark contains active compounds, honokiol and magnolol that may reduce inflammation, anxiety, or depression. ABOUT YOUR ABDOMINAL INCISIONAL HERNIA SURGERY Figure 1. An abdominal hernia. One type of hernia is an incisional hernia. An incisional hernia can develop around the incision (surgical cut) in the scar tissue from an earlier surgery (see Figure 2). This can happen in any surgery that was done in your abdominal area from the breastbone down to the groin. Figure 2.
