Barbin, from Chesapeake Bay Golf Club, and one of four players to shoot 68 in the regulation round, was the REMEMBERING TROY BECK, LPGA/PGA PROFESSIONAL AT GLENN DALE She was named the MAPGA Women’s Player of the Year four times in 1993, 1994, 1998, and 2003. MARYLAND AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS It might have been the easiest thing Zachary Barbin did all day; it was certainly the best, as he claimed the medal in on-site qualifying for the 97th Maryland State Golf Association Amateur championship at Baltimore Country Club, June 7. For the first time in nearly a decade, a Middle Atlantic PGA professional claimed the title of Maryland Open Champion, when Josh Speight birdied his final hole at the Country Club at Woodmore and secured a one-stroke victory at 99 th MSGA Maryland Open Championship on August 26.. Troy served on the National LPGA Board and was the LPGA Section President from 2003-2007. Her Troy Beck Golf Academy was noted for its Junior Golf Programs, with young golfers playing over 5,000 rounds at Glenn Dale Golf Club annually. PAT TALLENT WINS 60TH USGA SENIOR AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP Pat Tallent, a Congressional Country Club member from Vienna, Va., needed a late rally and a bit of help from his opponent, Bryan Norton, to finally capture the 60th U.S. Senior Amateur championship at Big Canyon CC in Newport Beach, Calif. Greystone Golf Course in White Hall was the setting for the 96 th edition of the MSGA Junior Boys Amateur Championship on July 22 and 23. 78 players (ages 14-18) played the Baltimore County municipal course at 6755 yards and par 72.. This was the first male event MSGA conducted in 2020 after the long shutdown of competitive golf in Maryland due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
