OUR STORY – MORONGO Following the federal upholding of tribal sovereignty, Morongo's original casino, Casino Morongo, opened up in 1988 and remained opened until 2004, when the new Morongo Casino Resort & Spa opened. The Morongo Gaming Agency is the regulatory authority for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians and their gaming operations. The Morongo Gaming Agency ensures the integrity and protection of the assets and safety for all of the gaming facilities along with their employees and customers through enforcement and oversight of all Tribal, Federal, and State Regulations. DONATIONS – MORONGO Preference will be given to Federally-recognized tribes, native communities, and organizations located in the Banning/San Gorgonio Pass area (Whitewater/Palm Springs to Moreno Valley to Calimesa). Non-profit organizations may apply for a financial donation only once per year. Duplicate applications submitted within the same year willbe denied.
MORONGO POLICE DEPARTMENT The Morongo Reservation Patrol-Tribal Law Enforcement Department was started with four officers in 1998 with its main purpose being to patrol the canyons for cattle thieves. This was the start of the Patrol Division. During those early years, the residential portion ofTRIBAL GOVERNMENT

Fire. The Morongo Fire Department is responsible for protecting 110 square miles of the reservation land as well as the residential community, tribal enterprises and the 27-story, 44-acre casino.
