MONTESSORI GRAMMAR PRINTABLE MATERIALS As a Montessori homeschooling family, our budget is tight and we try to only purchase materials that will give us several years' worth of use -- which is why I am loving these Montessori grammar printable materials! MONTESSORI-INSPIRED ACTIVITIES FOR TODDLERS & PRESCHOOLERS The repetition of the turning of the screwdriver helps build focus and concentration skills, and the work naturally requires hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to get the screws into the T-nuts. Size differentiation is also developed as the screws go from largest to smallest. Left to right motion teaches pre-reading skills. HOW TO TEACH MUSIC NOTATION THE MONTESSORI WAY The handbells that we have actually differ slightly from the ones the printable template is for — the middle C is red while the treble C is white. So I made this white treble C add-on card if you go for the same set we chose.. I also made many more of each felt note than the template called for — about 15-20 each — so we could use them to actually write music.MOMTESSORI LIFE

SINGULAR, PLURAL, AND POSSESSIVE NOUNS A couple weeks ago, I watched my 6-year-old sort all of her coins and then label a different bag for each. On our copy, I also added cut-outs of the way the earth appeared at those different times to show the OUR KIDS’ BEDTIME PRACTICES FROM BIRTH THROUGH AGE 7 As toddlers, they continued sleeping on floor beds until Lila was about 3 and Nora was about 1.5, when they asked to sleep in the same room in these bunk beds.I was sure this would never work, but they proved me wrong — Lila slept in the top bunk and Nora in the bottom, and they didn’t keep each other up all night like I was expecting. PRACTICAL LIFE SKILLS L really enjoyed scooping the guts and seeds out of our pumpkin when we carved it, so I knew that I wanted to save the seeds to use in some kind of work. I tried just washing them and laying them out to dry, but they were too sticky. I ended up baking them at MONTESSORI-INSPIRED RHYMING CARDS FOR TODDLERS Montessori sound games usually begin with “I spy” using objects to sound out beginning sounds, but N is clearly more interested in ending sounds that are the same — rhyming words. So I put together some rhyming words cards for her! To present the cards, I laid out one card from each pair on the rug, naming them as I went. TEACHING TEENS THE MONTESSORI WAY L has been steadily moving through the Montessori math materials, but she seemed to hit a road block once we got to the teens. No matter how many times I showed her the numbers and named them, she would still insist that 11 is a 1 and a 1, 12 is a 1 and a 2, 13 is a 1 and a 3,etc.

OBSERVATION & ANALYSIS TOOLS FOR MONTESSORI ENVIRONMENTS February 26, 2020.Reading time 6 minutes. When I was completing my Montessori training years ago, observation and analysis was one of the main topics of study. Its importance was drilled into our heads from the very beginning, and yet formal observations were one of the things I struggled most with in my days as a Montessori teacher. That didn’t change whenRead More

And I think it went viral because this is a common make-it-or-break-it moment in everyday parenting, and it’s oneRead More
