PIPILOTTI RIST
This retrospective focuses on Pipilotti Rist (b. 1962), an internationally active contemporary artist based in Switzerland. Rist’s video installations, consisting of comforting, sensorially stimulating music, and humorous snatches of images depicting a realm of vivid color, have charmed viewers of all ages throughout the world. MORIGUCHI KUNIHIKO: YUZEN / DESIGN Moriguchi Kunihiko has been designated a Living National Treasure for his mastery of the Yuzen (resist dyeing) technique. By boldly combining graphic design ideas and geometric patterns informed by his studies in Paris, Moriguchi has pioneered new creative possibilities that go beyond the traditional craft of Yuzen. HIGASHIYAMA KAII RETROSPECTIVE 1908–1999|THE NATIONAL Higashiyama Kaii Retrospective 1908–1999. 2018.08.29 wed. - 10.08 mon. Born in Yokohama in 1908, Higashiyama Kaii graduated from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. After studying for a period in Germany, he was drafted in the Pacific War.
