CITY AS STUDIO
This co-production has enabled an in-depth experience of making art, and the professional presentation of creative works. The resulting publication, City as Studio: Photographs of Oxford by Young Artists, invites readers to learn from their insights and is a creative response to vital questions for visual art. This project has been made possible with support from University of Oxford’s Small WHEREVER I AM: YAEL BARTANA, EMILY Wherever I am presents recent work, mostly unseen previously in the UK, by Yael Bartana and Emily Jacir. Their works in video and installation reflect their respective backgrounds, Israeli and Palestinian. Alongside there is a new selection of wartime photographsby Lee Miller.

Samson Kambalu. Oxford-based artist and writer Samson Kambalu (b. 1975 Chiradzulu, Malawi), studied at the University of Malawi (BA Fine Art and Ethnomusicology, 1995-99); Nottingham Trent University (MA Fine Art, 2002-03) and Chelsea College of Art and Design (PhD, 2011 –15).

Please note that until the end of June, the Café is currently only open on weekends.
