BLOG | MISS MUSTARD SEED by Marian Parsons | Jun 1, 2021 | Travel. As I’ve shared before, my favorite thing to do at the beach is to hunt for shells. I’ve been shelling since I was a little girl, helping my Oma hunt for olive shells at Long Beach, NC. When we cleaned out her attic, we found several five-gallon buckets LIVING ROOM & KITCHEN FABRICS I think, once I make up my mind about something like fabric, I want to buy the materials, so they are at the ready when I’m in the mood to sew and/or upholster, which isn’t a daily occurrence. So, here are the fabrics I decided on. I know. Blue and white is a shocker! Here’s the deal. I have loved blue and white for the better part of THE ANTIQUE CLOCK THAT FINALLY CAME HOME the antique clock that finally came home. This story starts all the way back in November of 2018 when we visited Jeff’s family in North Carolina for Thanksgiving. I went to a beautiful local shop ( The Mercantile in Knightdale, NC) to do a milk paint demo while I was there. This shop has amazing vendors and I wanted to buy so manythings!
BETTER THAN DROP CLOTHS... My family room has been undergoing some changes over the past few monthsyears, really. It’s been one of those slow makeovers that has happened (and is still happening) as the money and time are available. It started a couple of years ago when I painted the walls and cabinetry and made new curtains. In January ADDING SHELVES TO AN ANTIQUE WARDROBE Remember this antique pine wardrobe I bought off of craigslist a couple of weeks ago?. One of the last projects my brother was able to complete before flying home to Oregon was installing shelves inside. And one of the last things my mom and I got done before my parents drove back to PA was to unpack my fabric and fill those shelves. WHITE WASHING A TABLETOP I was going to think about the table a bit more before I painted it, but I really could only imagine it one way, so I decided to go with that. Also, I had a new friend and local blog reader, Kellie, coming over to hang out and help me paint while our boys playedDIY WINDOW VALANCE
I cut four lengths of twill tape to about 24″ long. To prevent fraying, we brushed the ends with Tough Coat. I stapled the twill tape to the top of the board, one directed to the front and one to the back on each side. This way, they can tie together under the piece of fabric. I screwed the board directly into the ceiling with a couple ofscrews.
CLEANING AN ANTIQUE GRAIN SACK Reader discretion is advised. That dirty bath water is after 24 hours of soakin g, changing the water four times, and putting it through the washing machine! This resulted in more texting with Emily, since she was working on cleaning a similar German grain sack. We both did someresearch on
DELTA H2OKINETIC® IN2ITION® SHOWER REVIEW Delta brand fixtures are what they prefer to use and install. It’s always nice to hear that sort of thing from a pro. The H2Okinetic® In2ition® Shower Head didn’t need professional installation. I was able to unscrew the old one and install this one in about 10 minutes. It was super simple and is so much better than what we had.MISS MUSTARD SEED

FIXING THE BOTTOM OF AN UPHOLSTERED CHAIR This chair has had issues for a while, but I’ve been ignoring them. It’s typically been in out-of-the-way places, so it wasn’t something I had to look at or be bothered by regularly. Well, since I moved it into the studio, this saggy bottom has been annoying me.
