Humans are social beings and positive relationships are important for our happiness. Empathy is a capacity that allows us to understand the minds of others and to resonate emotionally with those states.1 Empathy forms a cornerstone of social cooperation. DEVELOP GROWTH MINDSET WITH MINDFULNESS 'The view you adopt for yourself profoundly affects the way you lead your life. It can determine whether you become the person you want to be and whether you accomplish the things you value.' - Carol Dweck Research has shown that our mindset plays a big part in determining how far we will go. A fixed mindset assumes that our abilities are innate and immutable, while a growth mindset PRESS RELEASE: MINDFUL SCHOOLS RECEIVES $750,000 GRANT Emeryville, Calif. – Jan. 28, 2021 – Mindful Schools, a national non-profit organization, empowering educators to create equitable and joyful learning environments, today announced it has received a $750,000 grant from the Cigna Foundation. HOW TO STOP PANICKING AND The struggle with teens and technology My work around mindful technology use started because I keep finding myself in conversations with students, parents, and teachers about the ways they are struggling with technology. A fourth grader describes how he gets into a rage when he plays video games. In a room full of middle schoolers, every single student raises a hand when I ask if they've ever HEALING CIRCLES FOR TEACHERS AS A RESTORATIVE SELF-CARE Teachers are under enormous pressure.
