Sean is a wonderful teacher, well practiced in the teachings of mindfulness and compassion, dedicated and thoughtful.Jack Kornfield
Best-Selling Author, Founder of Spirit Rock Meditation Center I highly recommended Sean and his training. Although I had quite a bit of experience of teaching mindfulness and many years of personal mindfulness practice, Sean was quickly able to identify areas that I needed to work on in both my teaching and personal practice. His teaching style is very wise, intuitive, authentic and insightful. Through my work with him I have been able to deepen and enrich my personal practice as well as bring more depth and authenticity to my teaching. I am very grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Sean and he is certainly one of the best mindfulness teachers I havecome across.
Louise Shanagher
Sean helped me develop a mindful leadership training program specifically tailored to our culture here at TESLA. I couldn’t be more grateful. Sean really embodies what he teaches.Levi Bersola
TESLA
When we look at the struggles we’re up against in this modern day and age, both as individuals and as a collective, it is easy to become overwhelmed with all of the challenges we face. It can be difficult to know how to stay balanced while the world shifts faster than it ever has before; however, through my own years of self-discovery, I’ve come to understand that what is most often missing from life situations that require healing and greater harmony is mindfulness. WHY IS MINDFULNESS SO IMPORTANT? Mindfulness is a bridge that grants us with a deeper understanding of whatever is currently present within and around us. With anxiety, depression, and stress prevalent across the globe (not to mention the countless environmental, political, and other societal issues that call for our heightened attention and wisdom), mindfulness practice has never been more necessary than it is today. MINDFULNESS IS OF HUGE IMPORTANCE AS IT CAN HELP TO:*
Reduce anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges*
Reduce one’s stress levels*
Balance and regulate emotions*
Improve immune system functioning*
Improve sleep quality and reduce insomnia*
Reduce the experience of pain*
Increase self-compassion and empathy*
Deepen one’s sense of meaning and connection to the world*
Deepen one’s appreciation and respect for the natural environment*
Improve communication and relationships*
Heighten one’s capacity for focus and attention*
Bring about a sense of harmony and understanding – within oneself, between individuals, and amongst various groups of people _“When we get too caught up in the busyness of the world, we lose connection with one another – and ourselves.”_JACK KORNFIELD
WHY PRACTICE MINDFULNESS? By exploring and practicing a variety of mindfulness exercises, we enhance our understanding of everything that flows through and around us. Coming from a less-than-mindful background myself, having struggled personally with angst, anxiety, and lack of clarity and direction, I now embody a first-hand understanding of the power that mindfulness practice can have. Many years ago, I travelled to Asia where I became deeply inspired by the masters and monks who I met along the path. Their presence was radiant and deeply touching. I thought to myself: _By the time my years on this planet are up, I hope to have cultivated these skills of presence, care, and curiosity – as well as I possibly can._ Beginning then and there, I spent two years as a Buddhist Monk and then five years at Spirit Rock Meditation Center where I worked with Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, and other great teachers, deepening my understanding of how to integrate mindfulness into daily life. Since then, I’ve worked individuals in one-on-one settings, in healthcare settings, in corporate settings, and in prisons. Through this work, I have seen the infinite ways that mindfulness can inspire, heal, and bring balance to both individuals and to our collective humanity. It is my mission to share mindfulness with as many people as possible, which is why I am committed to sharing these free mindfulness exercises with the world. WHAT TYPES OF MINDFULNESS EXERCISES CAN I FIND HERE? The types of practices and resources that are available through Mindfulness Exercises are about as varied as we are as individuals.
