Mild Mike set about brewing a most unusual Ale, standing out head and shoulders above the watery, sugar-laden alternatives, way back in the 80s. Like Mild Mike’s pugilist career, the beer has been quietly notching up medals and trophies over the years. It pours dark brown with a ruby hue when held to the light. Without Warning is a hop-forward India Red Ale, brewed with toasted and caramel malts, resulting in a very drinkable, ruby red brew. Simcoe, Motueka and Sauvin Hops are to your palate what the funk and folk fusion of “Without Warning” is to your ears. VCP – VANILLA COFFEE PORTER Pouring a deep ebony with a tan head. The mammoth aroma is all about the coffee which also features proudly on the palate too. Sweet Vanilla plays a supporting role softening the edges of the coffee bit and producing a mocha impression. There’s still just enough malt and hops to keep it interesting and remind you that you’re drinking beer.

Loch n Lode - mike's Brewery Bistro. The inspiration for this beer came from a deep appreciation of heavy peated Islay Single Malt Whisky, and a genuine fascination with the role of different malts in the complexity of beer. We love brewing beers that you can get your teeth into.

M is for Moose in Milk & Mandolins. An oatmeal stout with plenty of roasty-toastiness but with a softer side, a bit like Mike (aka Moose) that volunteers for the rural fire brigade, plays in the front row for the local rugby team, wears stubbies all year round, but sings carols in the church choir. OMPA – ONEMOREPALEALE M is for Meerkats, and Malfunctioning Munitions M is for Motueka Hops and More Flavour. The first time this beer was brewed back in 2012, thing didn’t go quite to plan, we were aiming for something quite different, but we loved the hop profile and the flavour came as a big surprise. Since that first batch we’ve tweaked it a fair bit and WITHOUT WARNING

FLIGHT OF THE FALCON "Flight of the Falcon” is a throwback to an exciting time, in 2010 when Hop Union blended American varieties Simcoe, Citra & Sorachi Ace to create "Falconer’s Flight,” in an effort to satisfy demand for the popular varieties resulting from the West Coast Pale Ale boom, and paying homage to Glenn Falconer, one of USA’s craft brewing legends, in the process.

Without Warning is a hop-forward India Red Ale, brewed with toasted and caramel malts, resulting in a very drinkable, ruby red brew. Simcoe, Motueka and Sauvin Hops are to your palate what the funk and folk fusion of “Without Warning” is to your ears. VCP – VANILLA COFFEE PORTER Pouring a deep ebony with a tan head. The mammoth aroma is all about the coffee which also features proudly on the palate too. Sweet Vanilla plays a supporting role softening the edges of the coffee bit and producing a mocha impression. There’s still just enough malt and hops to keep it interesting and remind you that you’re drinking beer.
RIP – ROBUST IMPERIAL PORTER M is for Melancholy Mourners in Magnificent Barley fields. The mantra of keeping it simple, stupid! Couldn’t be more apt than in the context of this beer.
