NANO PI M4: CAN AN SBC GET ANY BETTER? Turns out there is an executable called rtcwake, which allows you to both set a wake up time and push the SoC into several sleep modes. The NanoPi M4 supports only a handful of modes. Freeze mode freezes all processes, suspends devices allowing a faster wake from sleep, but still consumes a fair amount of juice. The WS2812 RGB LED is a pretty popular device that's been around for a long time. In this video I'll cover what they are, how to drive them from 3.3v logic and even throw in a simple GoLang library to control them from a Raspberry Pi which will display a count of wiffies! BUILD A PI ZERO W POCKET PROJECTOR! // PROJECT PIPROJECTOR 1.X SERIES DOCUMENTATION The DLP2000 is a relatively cheap DMD, (Digital Mirror Device). It supports a resolution of 854 x 480. Not huge, but TI are selling their “evaluation boards”, (the DLP2000EVM), for around US$99 which is pretty cheap for a projector. However, these evaluation boards are only designed for the BeagleBone.. So this is a simple adapter board that allows you to use an ordinary Raspberry Pi Zero W MQTT MOSQUITTO ON A PI ZERO W IN UNDER 5 MINUTES Updating Raspbian. If you followed my previous article on installing Raspbian without a keyboard or screen, then the next step is to make sure you update your Debian package lists and upgrade, this will ensure you have the latest of everything.. apt-get update apt-get upgrade If you haven't done this before, it may take a while tocomplete.

ABOUT - MICKMAKE - LIVE. LEARN. MAKE. Making Stuff With Tech: What will you make? I fall, I rise, I make mistakes, I live, I learn. I Make. I like making things. The stuff I make generally solves a problem or meets a need. WHAT IS MQTT? // TECHNOLOGY MQTT was created in 1999 by Andy Stanford-Clark and Arlen Nipper out of a need to send sensor data from oil pipes in the desert over satellite links. Andy had to solve the problem of communicating with low power, low CPU, low memory sensors instantaneously over unreliable, low bandwidth wireless and satellite networks. ROCK64: CHEAP AND ROCK SOLID // REVIEW 25Q127CSIG - 128Mb SPI flash. K4E8E324EB-EGCF - On this board, at least, 1G LPDDR3 RAM. You can also have 2G or 4G LPDDR3 RAM. RK3288 - And lastly the RK3328, which is a 64 bit quad core SoC with frequency scaling up to 1.3GHz. On the flip side it's really quite boring withonly an SD slot.

SMS OVER LORA: LONG DISTANCE SMS WITHOUT 4G // PROJECT LoRa. LoRa is a great technology allowing you to send messages over very long distances. We've seen several attempts reaching over 200kms, ( Andreas Spiess ), and even 700kms using low altitude balloons. However, around the suburbs, with a decent antenna, you should be able to reach 20kms comfortably. MULTIPLEXING: DOING MORE WITH LESS. // TECHNOLOGY Multiplexing, or MUXing, is a way of reducing the number of expensive wires, cables or RF transmitters by combining several signals over one medium. It was originally used in telegraphy in the 1870s to allow more than one person to communicate at a time, and was developed by George Squier in 1910 for the telephone carrier network. BUILDING AN IMSAI 8080 REPLICA The IMSAI8080 was a pretty special machine, mainly because it was considered the very first “clone” computer, being sold in kit formin the mid 70s.
