Ida Saxton. January 25, 1871 –Married Ida Saxton at First Presbyterian Church in Canton, Ohio. Defeated in his re-election bid for Stark County prosecutor and returned to private practice. December 25, 1871 Katie McKinley was born to William and Ida. She died in 1875of typhoid fever.
HOOVER PRICE PLANETARIUM The planetarium was established in 1963 and was named after the two families who made the project possible, the Hoover family and company and Mr. and Mrs. Harley Price. The Junior League of Canton donated the dome and several projectors. The program MCKINLEY MUSEUM KELLER GALLERY The William McKinley Presidential Library & Museum is acquiring a unique piece of Canton history – and we need your help to tell the story! We are creating an exhibit based on more than 1,400 images of employees at Canton’s Republic Stamping and Enameling during the1940s and 1950s.

History To Go Programs are available virtually or in person. Stark County Then & Now (3rd Grade) Students will learn about the history of Stark County, including the development of major industries and immigration to the area. Using maps and historic photographs, students will discover the rich history of Stark County. The programSCHOOL PROGRAMS
Science Expeditions (Available September-March) Science Expeditions take place in our school house in the Street of Shop and includes five grade appropriate programs. Each program was designed around the Ohio Learning Standards. Students will be challenged to think critically, problem solve and work together to achieve common goals. CANTON’S WEST LAWN CEMETERY Canton’s West Lawn Cemetery is best known as the original burial site of President William McKinley, who was assassinated in 1901. But, it is also the final resting place of thousands of Canton citizens, including some of the most influential and famous residents in thecity’s history.

Ida Saxton. January 25, 1871 –Married Ida Saxton at First Presbyterian Church in Canton, Ohio. Defeated in his re-election bid for Stark County prosecutor and returned to private practice. December 25, 1871 Katie McKinley was born to William and Ida. She died in 1875of typhoid fever.
