Originally established in 1954 by Maudie Hamilton Wilson as a home style café, Maudie sold the restaurant to Joe Draker in December, 1992 on a handshake deal after he was inquiring about renting the house next door. Turning from home style to tex-mex in 1993, Joe has turned Maudie’s Tex-Mex into an Austin Icon, a MAUDIE'S HILL COUNTRY On September 6, 2010, Maudie’s Hill Country opened as our first stand-alone Maudie’s location. In addition, we have a private room available to rent for parties, meetings, and happy hours. With so much growth in the area, we love having a “home” to serve Tex-Mex in

the hill country.

Hello Maudie's friends and fans, Our dining rooms and patios are open in six locations, with new hours: 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 9 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.  And we continue to offer takeout with curbside delivery: you can see menus for each location and order online HERE. We continue to fulfill all best practices for social distancing and sanitation to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. Customers will not be able to wait for tables inside. Masks are required until you are seated at a table. We're back to 50 percent capacity inside and on our patios. And, we hope to re-open our Triangle location soon.
