How to protect your lungs on hot and humid days Heat and humidity can affect your breathing, especially if you have asthma or COPD. Cigarettes are made from tobacco. The tobacco plant contains a drug called nicotine. Nicotine is a deadly poison – it can kill a person in less than an hour if even a small amount is injected into the blood stream. Tobacco smoke contains very tiny amounts of nicotine that aren't deadly, but are still very bad for your health.SARCOIDOSIS
People with severe sarcoidosis may get other treatments. People with lung scarring (pulmonary fibrosis) may be prescribed oxygen to help them breathe easier. How to protect your lungs on hot and humid days Heat and humidity can affect your breathing, especially if you have asthma or COPD. On very hot, humid days, especially days that have high levels of air pollution or smog, stay indoors. Find an indoor place that’s cool. Make sure the place you choose has clean air – this means no tobacco smoke or harsh scents.
