USING ARGAN OIL FOR GRAY/WHITE HAIR I wanted to share my recent experience with argan oil. I read so many good reviews about argan oil so I purchased "One 'n' Only"Argan Oil from Sally's. My dry, gray hair loved it. It was smooth, shiny, and silky and I got many compliments. Then one day about 6 weeks later, I noticed my usual silvery white hair was turning a dingy yellow color. HORN VS WOODEN COMB? I like using my MP combs for oils/leave-ins for wet hair because there's no possibility of damaging the comb by getting it wet. I know there are plenty of people who use horn or wood combs on sopping wet hair with no problems but I personally would rather not deal with the potential risk (like horn combs going smelly or wooden combs getting rough from swelling from the water etc etc). ALTERNATIVES TO PUREOLOGY SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER? Kirkland brand moisture shampoo and conditioner are supposedly a knock off of pureology. I quite like the shampoo but wasn't crazy about the conditioner. You get them at Costco but I think you can also get them off Amazon at a marked up price. But I can't find it anywhere! It (along with Natures Gate as a whole) is gone from every single place I used to buy it, and when I looked online at their website I don't have the option to buy it fromthere either.

MAJOR TRIM AT HOME, SHOULD I CHOP? I'm considering a major trim at home! This time last year I had decided to visit a hairdresser for the first time in several years, but then the pandemic hit and of course I couldn't go at all. Right now my hair is classic plus and I feel like I'm wearing it up all the time not doing anything special or enjoying it. Ideally I'd want it to be a lot shorter, between tailbone and waist so still WASHING YOUR HAIR ONCE A MONTH Washing your hair once a month - unhealthy. It sounds gross but my hair works that way! IDEAS NEEDED FOR A HOMEMADE CREACLIP :) Hi, I'm thinking about making a homemade self-trimming devise. The CreaClip is ~$30 not including shipping, so besides Feye's trimming method I'm looking for an alternative inexpensive device to create a nice U shape. Ideas I've come up with so far are 1) looking for 2 pieces of slighty curved plastic, maybe from an arts and crafts store or Home Depot:p attaching hair friendly fabric to it WEIRD GRAY STUFF ON MY COMB A horn comb needs to have Lanolin Oil applied to replace moisture, or if left overly dry, in time, the horn comb will fizzure crack. Apply the lanolin to a paper towel, a few dots of it -- then rub the paper towel a bit to smear the lanolin oil into a patch. THEN rub the comb. You will see the shine come back. I HAVE FINE HAIR BUT ALOT OF IT? The "fine" refers to the texture of individual hair strand while the third classifier "iii" indicates that you have a lot of them (hence the ponytail circumference of 4.5) So it just means that you have fine strands but a lot of hair! We have some members with similar classifications as you you can check out the article section for anarticle
ADDING COFFEE TO HENNA Re: Adding coffee to henna. I've tried lots of different coffees- Instant and ground in straight formula, glosses, with henna and rinsesVery temporary and the smell is overpowering-also, if you're sensitive to caffeine, it'll really buzz you. Walnut powder with cassia may be a better option. HORN VS WOODEN COMB? I like using my MP combs for oils/leave-ins for wet hair because there's no possibility of damaging the comb by getting it wet. WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE KETOCONAZOLE NOT WORKING FOR A dermatologist diagnosed me with seborrheic dermatitis. My scalp is VERY greasy, VERY itchy (it itches really bad in my crown area which ironically is where I have the most hair loss and where it is the thinnest). She prescribed ketoconazole shampoo and had me rotate it out with Head and Shoulders. I've been doing this and still no relief. My scalp is massively greasy, severely dry, and very SHORT HAIRS ON THE HAIRLINE THAT JUST WON'T GROW Re: Short hairs on the hairline that just won't grow. For many people, the hair that frames the face grow much slower and has a shorter terminal length. Perhaps it's confused; after all, the fine little hairs all over your cheeks have (thank goodness) a very short TL. My best friend's son is 12 now. My reasons: - slip: horn is composed of keratin (like your hair) so it slips through really easily, especially if yours is well-made and smooth like mine. - oil distribution: I do a light oiling after every wash and use my horn comb to distribute the oil through my wet hair. So I have been henna-ing my hair for a while now, and I loved the beautiful auburn red I get from the color. Two weeks ago I got antsy to try out henndigo and be a dark brunette. I acted on impulse and did a 60:40 indigo henna over my hair. It turned out black. The first two days I loved the exotic change, then on day three I just BIOTIN MADE MY SCALP SORE AND ITCHY Ive been waiting until i was sure before sharing this, just in case it was something else. I started taking 5000 mcg of biotin daily, which was the recommended dosage on the bottle. I have never in my life had any scalp problems. About a week into it, i noticed my scalp was becoming extremely tender and sore. It kept getting worse and worse until i couldn't even wear my hair up. DOES LONG HAIR MAKE YOU TOO HOT AND SWEATY? [ARCHIVE Hello, i have 2" long hair and soooo badly want long healthy hair, hence why i have shaved it all off! But does having long hair make you hot? I wear hats all the time atm and get sooo hot so can't imagine how hot it must be with all that hair! Also i've heard that wearing hats can make you get bald patches where the hat rubs against the scalp, is that true? BOAR BRISTLE BRUSH STINKS? I recently bought a new boar bristle brush, but today I decided to wash it after using it, so I used hot water and shampoo. After I washed it, it seemed to smell really bad. Like a pig sty. It didn't smell like that before I washed it. It's almost dry now but still has that terrible smell. What can I do about it? HAS NATURES GATE BEEN DISCONTINUED??! Ammonia is used in hair color to swell the hair shaft so the color molecules can get deeper into the hair shaft. Color companies found that this swelling of the hair shaft causes damage so many companies have gone ammonia free.
