BOULDERING IN LONDON Of the different types of indoor rcok climbing availiable in London, bouldering is the probably the largest growing catergory. There's been a hertige of bouldering only centre's in London such as the orginal Arch at London Bridge (which unfortuantly has made way for redevelopments), but there has been an ever growing raft of bouldering only centres popping up around London. BEGINNERS GUIDE TO CLIMBING IN LONDON Here you will be able to master the physical techniques of climbing and getting your body used to supporting your weight on your toes, fingertips and strengthening your muscles but without having to worry too much about knots, specific equipment and technical skills such asbelaying.
CLIMB LONDON CENTRES Climb London is the London arm of the High-Sports company who are one of the UK's leading operator of indoor climbing centres. Climb London covers 5 climbing walls (see link below for locations), based inside existing gyms/sports centres. The gyms in themselves do tend to be smaller than the dedicated climbing centres above but do offer an CLIMBING OUTSIDE OF LONDON SWANAGE DORSET Area . Swanage, Dorset . Types of climbing. Trad, Sport deep water soloing, bouldering . A bit about the Area. Being only a short journey from London, the Limestone cliffs of the Swanage coast stretch for some 3 miles and offer a bewildering array of sport/trad and sea-cliffclimbing.
THE WESTWAY SPORTS CENTRE Westway Sports & Fitness Centre is a not-for-profit facility with an awesome climbing wall featuring: 350 climbing routes on 110 roped lines up to 13.5m. Bouldering walls with up to 100 boulder problems rotated every 4 weeks. Route changes every month. 4 auto-belay machines. Training rooms specialising in Systems Training andEndurance Training.
LONDON CLIMBING GRADES Although open-ended, the "V" system currently covers a range from V0 to V16. This is the most likely grading system you will spot in the London Climbing walls, especially the centres with a bouldering focus such as The Arch 2 and Mile End. Peak Bouldering Grade - derives from the Peak District and is focused on outdoor bouldering gradesthat
FAIRLOP WATER BOULDERING PARK Fairlop Waters Bouldering Park is somewhat of an enigma. Set in Fairlop Waters Park in Redbridge. The boulder park consists of nine individual man-made boulders am packed with decent routes. This really is a must for any London climber.JAGS CLIMBING WALL
The wall is a fun hidden gem in South London near Dulwich Village, comprising of a nine metre high roped wall (with 9 lines) and twobouldering walls.
VERTICAL CHILL
The Vertical Chill Ice wall is based at the back of the Ellis Brigham Mountain sports store just of the strand in Covent garden. The wall itself is housed within a refrigerated unit with viewing windows on various floors of the shop.
