We’re Christine & Jan, aka. the dynamic duo of DIY, and we want to help you with your home improvement projects and help you create a home that you will love! Have you ever been let down by a tradesperson? THE ULTIMATE DIY GUIDE: HOW TO PLAN AND INSTALL PANELLING Step 1 – Planning. This is the most important bit of this project and it’s also the most time-consuming part. It may seem like a lot of faffing to prepare such detailed plans and drawings but once you’ve perfected the planning nothing else can go wrong! It’ll also save lots of time in the long run! DIY OUTDOOR SOFA WITH HIDDEN STORAGE This is how to build a DIY outdoor sofa: 1. Measure, Cut & Sand. Start by cutting all of your pieces of timber to the sizes you need. If you’re using the same measurements as we did you’ll have to cut as follows: Cut the 5 slats (2.0m x 3.8cm x 2.4cm) for the detail in TREATING & PAINTING OUR BALCONY Treating the deck really couldn’t be easier. PAINTING A STONE WINDOW SILL This is what it looked like before starting work. This is the window sill about half way through painting. We hadn’t realized how much the original black paint had faded until we started to repaint the window sills. It’s such a quick and easy thing to do, but it makes such a difference. Here are the before and after side by side shotsfor you.

Pros of caulk: Dries quicker than silicone. Less tolerant to movement than silicone – should only be used in areas where there is little or no movement. Ideal for filling gaps in living areas like between skirting boards, picture rails and built-in furniture. You can paint over it with any paints or varnishes.
